It’s been nearly two months since Season 9 of the long-running sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” premiered on CBS and fans are still waiting for the reunion of Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, and Amy, played by Mayim Bialik.
It can be recalled that Amy broke up with Sheldon during the Season 8 finale just as Sheldon was about to propose and give her an engagement ring.
Nine episodes down and the reunion is still not happening although there have been hints that the two obviously still have feelings for one another. Avid fans of the TV series know that it was all just a matter of time.
Episode 10 of “The Big Bang Theory” was supposed to air on November 26 but due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, it was moved by a week. It also pushed further the fan wait for the long-sought reunion of Amy and Sheldon because according to leaked reports of episode 10, the two will finally get back together again.
Accordingly, the tune of a Beach Boys song during episode 10, titled “The Earworm Reverberation,” would make Sheldon realize how important Amy is to his life. So he will rush to Amy to make amends only to find Amy kissing Dave, details Yibada.
But instead of losing hope, Sheldon went on with the interruption and says that Amy is the earworm in his heart and eventually tells her that he is still in love with her.
Despite the presence of Dave, Amy shall also confess her love to Sheldon to wrap up the episode.
A little help from a dead guy
According to the same leaked information, before Sheldon gets the strength to finally say what he feels for Amy, he will get help from a dear old and dead friend in the person of Professor Proton, played by guest star Bob Newhart.
Fans of “The Big Bang Theory” know that Professor Proton, who is also called as Dr. Arthur Jeffries, died in episode 22 of Season 7 titled “The Proton Transmogrification.”
But the character will be back, not from the dead, but in Shedon’s dreams to give him sound advice. The advice would enable Sheldon to make very important decisions, which is what he will do when he finally tells Amy towards the latter part of the episode what he really feels for her, details the Christian Post.
Based on a leaked image of episode 10, Professor Proton would appear to Sheldon’s dream dressed as a Jedi knight. Fans say that the get-up and the theme are very timely since “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will finally hit theaters next month.
Viewers are also aware that the boys of “The Big Bang Theory” are big fans of the “Star Wars” epic space opera.
A platonic relationship
During the episode 9 of “The Big Bang Theory” titled “The Platonic Permutation,” which aired on November 19, the relationship of Sheldon and Amy almost took a turn for the worse when Amy started missing Sheldon and told him that she is ready to be his girlfriend again.
For some reason, Sheldon declined the offer and told her that it would be better for the two of them to just remain as friends, much to the chagrin of the viewers and fans of ‘Shamy.’
Amy realized how much she misses Sheldon and his craziness when her former boyfriend invented the game called “Friends, Food, Fight” during Thanksgiving Day. But after she was spurned by Sheldon for her offer, she was seen holding back her tears as the statement of Sheldon keeps playing back on her mind while she was driving.
Meanwhile, Leonard and Penny celebrated their first Thanksgiving together as a married couple. Raj, Bernadette, Emily, and Howard, meanwhile, spent their holiday volunteering at the soup kitchen.
