The 10th season of the American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” was off to a rousing start as expected on CBS on September 19 with a premiere episode entitled “The Conjugal Conjecture” focusing on the relationship of Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki, and Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco and their renewal of vows.
Following the meeting set by Howard, played by Simon Helberg, with Air Force Colonel Richard Williams regarding the guidance system project that Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, developed, the meet-up and the discussion happened in the second episode.
But Sheldon was somehow eased out of the picture by Howard since the Air Force official was his contact in the first place. Colonel Williams said that he wants a miniature version of the guidance system project for the military. Thinking that it was Howard who is the main brain for the project, he keeps on lauding him, much to the chagrin of Sheldon.
So when the Colonel asked Howard to deliver a smaller version of the project for the military in four months, Sheldon decided to speak up and promised to deliver it in two months.
While his friends got angry about such a tight deadline Sheldon promised to the Air Force official, they all had fun nonetheless at their new retinal scanner in their laboratory.
Fumbled on Bernadette’s storyline
Bernadette, played by Melissa Rauch, was also featured in the second episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 10 entitled “The Military Miniaturization” as she was found out by the employees of the pharmaceutical company as pregnant.
That infuriated her as she thought they might take her off the next big medical project. Penny later admitted that it was her who let the information slipped.
But Bernadette forgives her eventually because Penny, later on, was able to scare Bernadette’s boss by threatening to sue the company if her friend is taken off the medical project.
Critics believe that the TV series had the chance to tell a satisfying and relevant story for Bernadette in the second episode but the show’s writers simply fumbled it, notes the Den of Geek.
It was an obvious attempt by the show’s writers to address sexism in the workplace, which is quite new for a show that has been expanding its female cast and allowed them to have solo storylines. But “The Big Bang Theory” has been somewhat lackadaisical in driving the cultural conversation on feminist issues.
None of what happened during the second episode is in any way groundbreaking, but it does at least mean that someone somewhere behind the scenes of the show is aware of stories that could start being told through the supporting cast of “The Big Bang Theory.”
Moving in together
While the fourth episode of “The Big Bang Theory” is to air on October 10 yet, there are now spoilers saying that it would see Amy, played by Mayim Bialik, moving into Sheldon’s apartment, reports the International Business Times.
But it is not the kind of move in that fans are long hoping to happen between Sheldon and Amy. Apparently, Amy’s apartment gets flooded so she asks Sheldon if she could move in with him temporarily.
The fourth episode is titled “The Cohabitation Experimentation” which could be a prelude to ‘Shamy’ finally moving to the next level as far as their relationship is concerned or maybe not too.
Sheldon shall reportedly agree to live together with Amy. Unfortunately, their new living arrangement would not be a peaceful and wonderful experience for both of them.
In a recent interview, showrunner Steve Molaro said that Sheldon and Amy will attempt to adapt to the changes by supporting each other through the ordeal. He explained that everyone will have all the apprehensions of whatever Sheldon and Amy are going to feel and they’ll work their way through it like they have for the past six years.
