As fans are worrying over the future of Sheldon and Amy’s relationship in “The Big Bang Theory”, other developments on the show might at least make up for the negativity surrounding the events with these two characters. While we don’t yet know what the fate of the “main” relationship of the show is going to be, it’s at least getting more and more certain that Leonard and Penny are very likely not going to drop their own relationship, and will take it to the next level like most fans were expecting.
The wedding has been coming for quite some time now, and it looks like the new season is going to finally turn the two characters into a couple. They’ve gone through some difficulties of their own – although they never broke up completely, like Amy and Sheldon did – but they’ve been able to handle their issues more or less maturely and have been moving forward in their lives quite successfully. Because of this, the wedding between them is likely going to be a major element in the new season and will be used to advance the story in more ways than one.
For example, some fans have been speculating that the deep connection that the two share is going to be used as a contrast with the current state of the relationship of Sheldon and Amy, although it’s not quite clear how that would benefit the overall story arc and the progression of the show.
That wedding won’t go down without some final problems though. More specifically, the woman that caused the whole problem between the two characters in the very first place – Mandy – is going to be introduced at some point in the new season, and there will be some friction between her and both Leonard and Penny.
They will apparently have a deep, thought-provoking conversation, according to the most popular rumors, and this will serve as a major point for moving their relationship forward. And as difficult as that talk might be – we can only imagine what kind of scene we’re about to see – it’s probably going to be a strong necessity for both characters to get this out of their systems and put this part of their lives behind them once and for all.
Fans have been very interested in finding out exactly what kind of conversation the characters are going to have, and of course there’s no shortage of speculation within the community. Opinions so far are somewhat divided, but many people apparently expect a yelling match between Penny and Mandy.
We should of course keep in mind that “The Big Bang Theory” is a comedy first and foremost, so we don’t expect this conversation to be that deep or filled with negative emotions. And yet, on the other hand, the show has been changing a lot lately and it’s been moving in new directions, taking a slightly more dramatic approach to the development of its storylines, so it’s entirely possible that there might be some extra drama thrown in there.
Sheldon and Amy will probably not be apart for much longer either – fans of the show are pretty certain that the two of them will end up getting back together, as keeping them separated permanently is going to be a very sharp contrast to the lighthearted nature of the show as a whole. It will probably even go against the more dramatic aspects of the production that were established lately.
