The 2015 Subaru Legacy has been redesigned for the model year. It is a sensible and refined all-wheel-drive family sedan that starts at the lowest price in America. Priced at $22,490, the Legacy is a standard mid-range sedan, which comes with an all-wheel drivetrain and Traction Control as standard.
There are no major safety concerns with this vehicle, which plays a major role in establishing its authority in the class. The American auto industry has numerous big players such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, etc. apart from numerous Japanese players. Even the upcoming Ford Fusion sports a higher price tag than the 2015 Subaru Legacy.
Subaru claims that the Legacy is capable of returning 24 MPG within the city and 32 MPG on t he freeway, with an average of 27 MPG. When pitched against the Ford Fusion’s 22/31 MPG city/freeway, the excellence and superiority of the Legacy is highlighted at once! The interior on the upcoming Legacy has improved over its predecessor, which is good news for the prospective buyers. Not that we had many major complaints regarding its predecessor!
Subaru introduced the CVT transmission by replacing the manual, and this improved both performance and fuel economy by quite a huge margin. Handling has been enhanced too, which gives the Legacy the upper hand in the class. Another important vehicle from the company this year is the Outback, which shares quite a few features with the Legacy.
The CVT transmission can be operated to work as a six-speed manual when programmed by the user. The vehicle draws power from a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated 175 BHP displacing engine block while a high-end 245 BHP displacing four-cylinder turbocharged engine block is also included in its class.
The Subaru’s ability can be accredited to its quirky exterior too till a certain extent as the general aerodynamics has been improved upon. The interior seating capacity has been enhanced too, and the vehicles are based on slightly larger wheelbase than its predecessor. Even though this has no negative impact on handling or performance, it goes a long way in enhancing the vehicle’s passenger carrying capability.
The boot space has been upgraded too, along with the use of better materials on the body. Unlike the cheap plastic parts used in the last generation Legacy, Subaru has upped their game with the latest vehicle. The buttons and switches are well within the reach of the driver while visibility over the dash is quite clear.
Subaru has come a long way since the first generation of the Legacy, and we hope that they keep continuing this tradition of improvement in the near future too.
