The 2015 Honda Fit is the best definition of the modern day sub-compact vehicle. The spacious interior on this small car will catch anyone by surprise. Add to that decent fuel economy, build and finish quality and advanced equipment level and you have a segment leader right there! However, the only downside to this car is the lack of refinement.
The current spec sheet of the 2015 Honda Fit is impressive and would have managed to outsell all competitors if launched a few years back. The situation however is different right now, and this is what stops it from making a deeper mark. Take a quick look inside the car, and the Honda Fit immediately strikes out for the lack of buttons on the central console and dash.
However, the use of better materials could have been considered as the current trim feels plastic-like. Slow voice recognition and poor audio quality of the navigation system are two of the major drawbacks on this hatchback. The Fit packs in more boot space than any of the other hatchbacks in the class. Hence, this is a major positive factor if you cherish frequent road trips.
Interior space is quite decent while the larger windows provide greater visibility, helping tourists catch a better glimpse of the surroundings. The designers at Honda need to be praised for the Fit’s practical design enhancing its everyday values. The primary competitors in the range are the Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Sonic, Toyota Yaris, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent and the Nissan Versa Note.
The base model of the 2015 Honda Fit features a four-cylinder 1.5-liter petrol engine with a six-speed manual transmission system. Honda offers an automated and SVT transmission system at an additional cost. The base model is priced at $15,525. The top model is factory fitted with all the additional equipments and will set you back by $20,800.
Honda claims that the Fit is capable of returning close to 31 MPG within the city perimeters and 38 MPG on the freeway. The on-road numbers are not expected to vary much. The Fit is ideal for city use, although, the drivetrain is stressed a lot under heavy usage. Hence, it is advisable not to push the car to the absolute limits.
The braking is firm and induces confidence while the suspension is aptly tuned for optimum comfort within the city. It could have been a tad firmer for the highway, but owners are less likely to travel long distances in the Fit.
Honda should consider upgrading the trim level or introduce an optional high-end package for best results. What are your thoughts on the 2015 Honda Fit? Let us know via the Comments Section below. Stay tuned for additional news, reports and updates from the world of automobiles.
