A Sport model is expected to be ‘sporty’ but that cannot be said for certain vehicles. Some Sport models are so bad we wonder why the company hasn’t changed the badge yet. However, if you think that the 2015 Honda Accord Sport sits somewhere along the line, you are grossly mistaken!
While most brands offer upgraded interior trim and functionality options in the base Sport model, Honda has stuck to the base cloth trim and buttons. However, what matters most is the introduction of the 2.4-liter engine block that is hooked on to a dual-exhaust system. The entire setup adds 4 BHP and one ft-lb, which takes the total displacement up to 189 BPH and 182 ft-lb.
These figures are not record breaking to be precise, but add a bit of an oomph factor to the ride. Hence, with the 2015 Accord, Honda has stressed on the points that matter. The driver’s seat is 10-way adjustable and features power lumbar support. Apart from the performance aspect, Honda has upgraded the rear suspension system and introduced 18-inch rims in place of the 17-inch ones.
However, we consider the six-speed manual transmission on the Sport as its best feature. Normally, we would appreciate a CVT gearbox, but when it comes to the Accord Sport, we prefer manual. The Honda Accord is one of the most appreciated mid-sized sedans in the market, renowned for agility and performance.
The CVT transmission has come a long way since the initial days and with companies such as Subaru working with the CVT in vehicles such as the Legacy, WRX and the Impreza, people have begun liking its functional aspect. Most often the Accord is grouped along with the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, and the Chevrolet Malibu but that is not necessarily fair.
The 2015 Honda Accord offers a steady ride and is not all over the place around corners, which cannot be said for most sedans in this class. While most people might think that a front-wheel drive vehicle cannot be fun, they are certainly missing out on a lot of it! The engineers at Honda have worked very hard on improving the handling on the Accord, and this is clearly visible on the 2015 model.
However, there is a certain faction that does not enjoy this sporty feel. All they want is reliability, fuel economy, and comfort. The 2015 Honda Accord packs all this into a single package, at an affordable price too!
We will get back to you with a comprehensive drive test review of the 2015 Honda Accord as soon as the vehicle is available. Stay tuned for now! What are your views on the vehicle? Let us know via the Comments Section below.
