It’s almost here – after much anticipation, the Tesla Model X will start shipping out to those who’ve pre-purchased it, with the first deliveries scheduled for September 29. According to Elon Musk, everything is going according to plan and the company will be able to meet the intended shipment date, so customers should prepare to get behind the wheel of the Model X soon. Of course, just like with the company’s previous release, there’s been a healthy dose of skepticism surrounding this launch and some people seem convinced that something is going to go wrong.
And people probably have some right to question the situation too, as it wouldn’t be the first time that Tesla have missed a deadline or have had to take a second look at the estimates they’ve given out, but it looks like this time the company has managed to get everything right and they’re moving according to schedule.
It’s really not that surprising that the company has been able to improve the reliability of their production though, as they’ve been taking deliberate steps to make sure that their process runs smoothly and without any interruptions, going as far as to reorganize parts of their manufacturing facilities in order to accommodate for the production of the Model X in a way that won’t interfere with the Model S which was still being manufactured.
The Model S actually ended up suffering from that a little, as the car had to be delayed while those issues were being sorted out, but at least the problem didn’t affect the Model X which has still been moving forward in its development and it doesn’t seem like people are going to have to wait extra for it.
Countering rumors that they’ve hit some production issues again lately, the company even made some improvements to their line-up and they’ve been quite active in their plans to add more models to their collection. Even though they’re reportedly had some issues related to specific design features of their models, it doesn’t sound like the company is going to suffer any delays in the manufacturing of the Model X due to those problems.
Considering that the car has already been tested extensively in outdoor environments and there have been various spy shots of it going around, it’s probably safe to assume that its production is going according to schedule and that we aren’t going to see Tesla announcing a last-minute delay.
Those who want to get a special customized edition of the Model X can now do that too, thanks to a special online tool for fine-tuning the vehicle that was released by Tesla publicly a few days ago. Buyers have various configuration options to pick from and adjust, and it looks like the company is trying to give their fans as many different options as possible. Customer choice is king when it comes to Tesla’s more advanced productions, and it’s good to see that the company still hasn’t lost that edge in their work.
For a company that appeared on the market just recently (at least relative to other big brands), they’ve already managed to cause quite the commotion and a lot of people are talking about Tesla and their upcoming Model X. It’s the biggest hope for green lovers who want to see electric vehicles gaining positions on the market, and Tesla are one of the companies that have been doing a fine job at getting people acquainted with the idea of electric cars.
