Tesla have been improving a lot, and they have come a long way since the release of their Model S which was the first major step in their progress towards mass-marketed electric cars. The company’s long-term plan is to make electric vehicles commonly available to anyone at a reasonable price and to create an active, competitive market for them. But before they can get there, they of course need to go through several higher-priced models in order to build up some funding as well as establish their position on the market.
The upcoming Model X has already been enjoying a lot of attention in the press, and many people are convinced that it’s going to perform well once it’s been out on the market for some time. And while the marketing strategy employed by Tesla seems a bit questionable in some regards, they have definitely been moving forward well in their plan to take over the market and make their offers available to as many people as possible.
However, the fact that Tesla have managed to popularize the concept of electric cars so much – there’s really no denying the fact that the company played a major role in this – they might also end up suffering a little bit from that themselves. Because in the end, it’s true that electric cars are a lot more popular now than they’ve ever been, and this has led to some fantastic offers by other major companies on the market as well.
The extra competition is always great news for interested buyers who’re looking to get a new car for themselves, but for a company like Tesla trying to establish its name amidst other more major players, it’s a more difficult situation and definitely something that requires a careful approach. Tesla have been promoting the benefits of electric cars quite a lot, and according to some experts, other companies have swooped in to reap the rewards from that active marketing in the end.
But if the Model X has a lot to offer – and it definitely seems like it – Tesla won’t have much to worry about. Competition will always be there, and it actually means that an idea has merit if anything. It should be good to see that Tesla are getting so much active competition in the market, because it indicates that they’re doing something right, they’re creating something that people actually want to see, and if they do things well on their end, it should mean great things for the company in the future.
We’ll have to wait until the Model X has been out for a while and we’ll see how well it will truly be taken by the market as a whole, but even if there are problems with the car’s popularity, Tesla should be able to learn from their mistakes and use that release to their advantage in order to improve their future releases. It’s certainly in Elon Musk’s style to make the most from bad situations.
Some critics are still evaluating the Model S as well, and the line has been getting some refreshing changes recently too. It looks like the long-term plan for Tesla is to not only keep making new releases that please the market and spike interest in the company, but also to keep their previous fans happy with new additions to their previous lines, keeping all of their models relevant and expanding their spread on the market.
