The fifth installment to the Terminator movie franchise titled “Terminator: Genisys” is certainly one of the most anticipated movies of 2015.
And no, it’s not because Arnold Schwarzenegger would be back to reprise his role as the older (for quite obvious reasons) T-800. But most certainly because the movie shall feature the slam bang actions and techo-whiz creations of modern science and technology.
A good storyline always works for movie fans and “Terminator: Genisys” appears not to disappoint in that department as well.
“Terminator: Genisys” is due to hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
While the movie has yet to have an official trailer, there have been some behind-the scene still photos that were released already that most certainly whetted fans appetite on the upcoming action flick.
The movie is set in 2029 when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor is the leader of the resistance and Kyle Reese is his loyal soldier.
The two of them raised the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the (first Terminator) film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah, from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on (his travel back in time) is nothing like he expected.
A trilogy in the making
While Paramount Pictures has yet to confirm the report, speculations have been going around since the middle of 2013 that “Terminator: Genisys” will be the first of a trilogy that the company will launch this year (2015) to revive the very successful film franchise.
Reports that the fifth Terminator movie will be the start of a kickoff standalone trilogy were detailed by Screen Rant in a January 2014 report.
In an interview in December 2014, Schwarzenegger also disclosed some details about the film, reports Enstarz.
The original Terminator said that there are two T-800 robots in the movie. The first is a younger one which will be controlled by Skynet and the other is an older version (that would be him obviously) which will be reprogrammed and will appear in the latter part of the movie.
Special preparation
Schwarzenegger is not the lead actor for the movie but is obviously the biggest draw for the film. The cast of the film includes Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, and Aaron V. Williamson as the younger T-800 cyborg.
Fashion & Style disclosed that Emilia Clarke had to make some special preparation to play the role of Sarah Connor in the movie.
She reveals that aside from taking on weapons training, she did lifting weights and attended kickboxing classes to fit into the role, which is quite rich in action.
