Japanese fans of the franchise have already had a good run with “Fated Retribution”, and their Western brothers and sisters have been eager to get their hands on the game as well. The wait is almost over, and soon everyone will be able to enjoy the updated content of the latest “Tekken”.
Meanwhile, there are some peculiar rumors claiming that the studio is already looking farther into the future, planning another release shortly after “Fated Retribution” sees its Western release. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of information confirming this right now though, so we wouldn’t put too much trust in those rumors.
After all, it simply wouldn’t make sense for Bandai Namco to move on so quickly, when they still have a solid title in “Tekken 7”. The studio knows that this would also be a disappointing development for their fans and it would harm their reputation.
Which is why we don’t expect to hear anything about a major sequel anytime soon. All marketing efforts will likely be focused on “Fated Retribution” and specifically the game’s special edition in the coming months, and we even expect Bandai Namco to engage in some active discussions with their fans on a regular basis regarding the re-release of the game.
But let’s see what 2017 holds for us – who knows, the year may be full of surprises for “Tekken” fans on a greater level than people have suspected until now.
