The fighting game “Tekken 7” has started rolling out to North American video game arcades through a tour beginning this month.
Since April 1, the game is being made available by Japanese developer Bandai Namco in various conventions across North America. It was first made available during the Wizard World convention held at St. Louis on April 1.
It has been reported since early last year that Bandai Namco will be bringing “Tekken 7” exclusively on the PlayStation 4 although a release date has yet to be announced as of this time.
According to some reports, “Tekken 7” shall bring back the ‘Tekken Bowl’ gameplay mode and enable players on the PS4 to fight online through the PlayStation Network.
Apparently, the upcoming game will feature a new online multiplayer mode so that players can easily find other gamers online and start a fight. But Bandai Namco has yet to state a release date for such update as well, notes N4BB.
A substitute to quench gamer thirst
As there is no official announcement yet on “Tekken 7,” Bandai Namco announced early this year the latest iteration to its popular fighting video game “Tekken” officially titled “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” which would come out in the video game arcades in Japan in July this year.
While the developer did not say exactly its intention for announcing “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution” early this year and its release to the arcades in July this year, critics believe that it was meant to quench gamer thirst for the console version of “Tekken 7.”
Bandai Namco released “Tekken 7” to the video game arcades early last year and promised to release the fighting video game exclusively on the PlayStation 4 in July last year. But the month has come and gone and it is already 2016 and there is still no sight of “Tekken 7” on Sony’s current generation gaming platform.
Having learned its lesson about opening its mouth too soon, the Japanese game developer decided to adopt a low profile mode about “Tekken 7.” In addition, to sort of redeem itself from the unfulfilled promise it made last year, it recently announced the coming of “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.”
Weighing a PC version
After the debacle of not being able to release a PlayStation 4 version of “Tekken 7” from July last year until this time, there are now reports that Bandai Namco is now considering releasing a PC version of the game instead of the planned PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Latest reports have been saying that Bandai Namco has been conducting surveys as of late and asking gamers about their opinions of having a PC version of “Tekken 7.”
If “Tekken 7” finally makes it to the PC, it will be the first game of the franchise to do so and it will certainly provide some competition for the likes of “Street Fighter” and “Skullgirls.”
It is also possible that once Bandai Namco sees the potentials of releasing “Tekken 7” on the PC sometime down the road, it will likely do so with “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.”
While there is nothing specific or definite yet about the possible release of “Tekken 7” on the PC, the Bandai Namco survey is more than enough to keep them really excited about the release of the game outside of the arcades.
The survey only takes about 20 minutes to complete and most of the feedbacks favor a PC version of “Tekken 7.”
Based on the gameplay trailers and teasers about the game already released by Bandai Namco, fans will see an improvement in one of the main characters’ costume. Accordingly, Heihachi Mishima will sport a new costume, details the Parent Herald.
“Tekken 7” director Katsuhiro Harada confirmed the character’s new costume in his latest post on Twitter announcing Heihachi’s new wardrobe in “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.”
