A remarkable 96% of adults also believe that an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to members of the opposite sex while 74% of them also feel that an unattractive smile can hurt a person’s chance for career success, notes Your Smile Becomes You.
When asked what do these adults in the survey wanted to do to improve their smile, their common answer was to have a whiter and brighter teeth, which can only be addressed by proper teeth whitening treatment or medication.
While brushing and flossing are sure ways to keep teeth bright, white, and healthy, it actually does not do all the work that some or most people would like it to do.
As people grow old, their sparkly smile gets a tinge of yellow on it and it’s not because they are not taking care of their teeth well, because most really do.
Accordingly, there are a number of reasons why the teeth of persons go from white to not-so-bright including food and drink, tobacco use, age, trauma, and certain medications.
These factors can actually turn white teeth into yellowish even if people continue to brush and floss their teeth every day.
This is where teeth whitening comes in. It is actually a simple process. Whitening products contain one of two tooth bleaches – hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which makes the color less concentrated and the person’s teeth become brighter.
