The sixth season of the American supernatural drama TV series “Teen Wolf” on MTV shall reportedly introduce different kinds of creatures, consistent with the show’s strategy over its past five successful seasons.
It could be recalled that during the Season 5 finale, the show featured the Nazi werewolf and latest rumors have it that the popular TV show shall likewise build on the formula of other popular TV series like “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
According to rumors, the MTV series shall feature zombies and vampires and these creatures will likely serve as villains to the pack of Scott McCall, played by Tyler Posey, and Stiles Stilinski, played by Dylan O’Brien, reports the Parent Herald.
The pack also batted against the Dread Doctors in Season 5 so having zombies and vampires would no longer come as a surprise to many viewers of the show.
But showrunner Jeff Davis was quick to point out in a recent interview that “Teen Wolf” Season 6 shall have none of the zombies and the vampires.
Davis explained that “Teen Wolf” is a TV series that likes to delve on different kinds of mythologies, specifically those related to shape-shifters. He disclosed that the big bad for the sixth season of the show is not within the type of mythology that fans have been accustomed to but shall fall within a real mythology.
Harry Styles on ‘Teen Wolf’
In the same interview, Davis confirmed the veracity of reports that have been going around that the TV show is in talks with Harry Styles of One Direction to join the MTV series for its upcoming sixth season.
Davis said that the producers are still in talks with Styles’ management in the hope of getting him to play a role in “Teen Wolf” Season 6.
The showrunner also denied rumors that the reason why they are talking with the One Direction band member is because they wanted to replace Dylan O’Brien, who happens to have missed a lot of filming for “Teen Wolf” Season 6 after getting injured on the set of “The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure.”
Davis also revealed that “Teen Wolf” Season 6 might premiere on MTV this coming November and shall end in July next year, which is a push back from earlier reports that Season 6 of the TV series shall be airing next month.
Filming continues without Dylan O’Brien
Season 6 of “Teen Wolf” is now in production and it seems like the producers and showrunner have hit a wall on the situation of regular cast member Dylan O’Brien, who plays fan-favorite Stiles Stilinski in the show.
Dylan O’Brien apparently sustained injuries while he was filming in March a vehicular stunt scene for the movie “Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure.”
The injuries were so serious that the actor needed time to recover, which is the reason why O’Brien cannot do filming until this time for “Teen Wolf” where he happens to be a series regular, notes the Ecumenical News.
Because of the serious injuries to O’Brien, the production of “Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure” has been put on hold as well. But Season 6 of “Teen Wolf” does not enjoy the same luxury which is why series creator Jeff Davis said that they will continue to shoot with or without O’Brien.
Like the producers, the writers, and the cast members, Davis believes that the show must go on even without O’Brien and it would all be up to the actor if he wants to film for the role of Stiles Stilinski anytime soon for Season 6.
Davis also explained that the sixth season will feature a new mythology and he hopes to have a satisfying twist for the viewers.
The showrunner said that the potential theme and feel of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 will be like a psychological thriller that would also come out like a ghost story.
