While all eyes and ears are on the release date of the Season 6 of the American supernatural drama series “Teen Wolf” on MTV, more than a handful of the fans is more focused on the possible plotline for the upcoming season of the hit show.
As it is, MTV has yet to announce an official release date for “Teen Wolf” Season 6 but many are confident that it shall be known in the upcoming San Diego ComicCon on July 21 where the cast members led by Tyler Posey and executive producer Jeff Davis will be holding court in a presentation panel.
It is still not clear if actor Dylan O’Brien, who is also a main protagonist in “Teen Wolf,” will be around at the San Diego ComicCon as he was out of commission since March after suffering an injury during the filming of “The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure.”
Basing on the Season 5 finale that featured the Nazi werewolf, reports have it that the upcoming Season 6 shall focus on the teen wolf pack of Scott McCall, played by Tyler Posey, going after the Nazi werewolf, reports the Ecumenical News.
In a recent interview, Tyler Posey said that the show has the Nazi werewolf which could become the most interesting villain of “Teen Wolf” to date. He explained that the Nazi werewolf marks the oldest werewolf that Scott’s group has ever encountered. He also said that the Nazi werewolf is not a normal werewolf, hinting that the creature might have some special abilities.
While they were both from the same mold of creatures, there is obviously an animosity between Scott’s wolf pack and the Nazi werewolf and it would be interesting to find out how the showdown would turn out to be, which is what is giving excitement to the millions of fans of “Teen Wolf.”
Still questionable
There have also been reports that the reason why the release date of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 was pushed back because the producers want to wait until Dylan O’Brien, who plays the important role of Stiles Stilinski in the TV show, time to heal.
While initial reports were saying that the producers would want to proceed with the filming of Season 6 even without him, it seems that they have thought better as the absence of Stilinski might have an impact on the TV ratings of the popular show on MTV.
From a supposed release date of July, “Teen Wolf” Season 6 has been pushed back reportedly to a November airing, although everything about the show, the cast, and its possible plotlines shall be known during the up and coming San Diego ComicCon to be held late next week.
In fact, there are even reports saying that the show was interested in tapping Harry Styles of One Direction to be able to temporarily pinch hit for Dylan O’Brien but thus far, there is no definite agreement that has been reached.
The first season to be pushed back
Incidentally, Season 6 of “Teen Wolf” is the very first season of the hit TV series that shall have a premiere other than the month of June.
The first five seasons of the TV series premiered in June so since it is already July, it is clear that “Teen Wolf” is now treading on an uncharted territory.
Still, the producers are confident that the push back would not affect the popularity and ratings of the show because they have compelling storylines that complement the great actors of the show.
Incidentally, there are reports coming out lately that the push back in the release date of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 has nothing to do with the production waiting for the full recovery of Dylan O’Brien.
Accordingly, the delay is due to a pitched battle between Viacom, MTV’s parent company, and the family that owns the majority of the firm, reports Design & Trend.
