The final season of “Teen Wolf” kicked off earlier this week and wasted no time in bringing the scary Ghost Riders in Beacon Hills.
The action-packed season premiere brought in the premise of Season 6A altogether. It also introduced the new hot teacher at Beacon Hills High, who will eventually be revealed as the Nazi werewolf.
It’s the second half of Scott, Stiles, Lydia, and Malia’s senior year, and the past three months after Season 5 have been quiet and normal. That is until Liam and Hayden come across a moving car with a broken door.
They found a boy in the backseat of the car and reported it to the sheriff. Sheriff Stilinski then enlists Scott’s help to uncover the boy’s memories. It is then revealed that Alex was with his parents driving when the Ghost Riders took them away.
Alex has no memories of his parents whatsoever but claims that the Ghost Riders are going to come back for him. The pack then inspects the car, but cannot find anything supernatural with how things happened.
Scott and Stiles then go to Alex’s house and find no trace of her parents from pictures to things. Their house also looks abandoned now. However, Stiles stumbles upon Alex’s room and it looks very opposite from the rest of the house. Stiles then looks under the bed and sees a bloody horse’s hoof.
The villain then tries to shoot Stiles and that’s when he figures it out that they are erasing people from existence. Lydia also realizes the same thing and then figures out that Stiles is the next victim.
Meanwhile, Liam and Mason steal their new teacher’s compass and lead them to Alex’s house to investigate as well. Back in the school, Liam, Hayden, and Mason discover a dead body in the boiler room.
Stiles tell Scott that he thinks the next victims are Liam and Hayden as they were down the same road Alex and his parents were taken. He then sees someone wearing his lacrosse jersey saying the coach let him wear it.
He then runs up to Mrs. Martin, Liam, and Hayden, and then his Dad, but they don’t know who he is. He calls Scott but his own best friend does not even remember him. That’s when he realizes that when one sees the Ghost Riders, they will be next.
Lydia then finds Stiles and knows they run to the Jeep to escape. They exchange an emotional banter with Stiles telling Lydia to remember him and that he loves her before he gets completely taken away by the Ghost Riders.
The next day, Lydia walks into the school and feels like she is forgetting something. The teaser for the second episode has also been released and it hints that Malia, Lydia, and Scott will soon figure out that they are missing a person in their lives.
It will be recalled that shifting the focal point of the season to Stiles’ disappearance give the show a perfect excuse for his absence on most episodes due to his busy film schedule.
Showrunner Jeff Davis teases that the core theme of the season is memory. It will focus on how will the loss of Stiles affect Scott and the rest of the pack, and the biggest challenge is how they will bring back someone who they can’t remember.
Stiles and Lydia’s romance will also be explored more as Lydia will obviously play a huge part in saving Stiles in the current season. Speaking to Hollywood Life, Holland Roden, who plays the banshee said that fans will definitely like what’s next for Stiles and Lydia this season.
MTV has also released an exclusive super tease of what’s to come for the final season. Stiles is obviously still alive despite being erased from existence.
