The sixth season of the American teen supernatural drama TV series “Teen Wolf” was previously reported to be airing this month but MTV has yet to announce an official air date.
With the latest reports that the TV series shall be participating at the upcoming San Diego ComicCon slated on July 21, it seems clear that “Teen Wolf” shall not be returning to the small screen before that date, leaving it with 10 days within which to make its supposed Season 6 premiere this month.
However, it is also possible that the Season 6 premiere of “Teen Wolf” might hit the small screen several months thereafter as there are also reports saying that it could return to the small screen this coming November.
The premiere of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 is already a push back from its traditional June premiere, which has been the case during the past five seasons of the TV series.
Reports have it that the production of “Teen Wolf” had to adjust the filming and premiere date of the TV series in order to give actor Dylan O’Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski in the show, enough time to recuperate and catch up with the filming for Season 6, reports the Christian Times.
As a matter of fact, the production of “Teen Wolf” Season 6 is currently on a two-week hiatus and its official release date could probably be announced during the San Diego ComicCon on July 21.
Dylan O’Brien had an accident in March while filming “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” which triggered speculations that he might take a leave of absence from Season 6 of “Teen Wolf.”
With the reported leeway that has been given to him by the production of “Teen Wolf” until he recuperates and gets back to filming, it seems clear that O’Brien and his Stilinski character will not be missed in Season 6.
Packing it in
The “Teen Wolf” panel at the upcoming San Diego ComicCon shall reportedly be headed by Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall in the TV series, along with the other cast members and executive producer Jeff Davis.
According to sources, the “Teen Wolf” panel shall give fans an opportunity to participate in the Q&A portion related to Season 6 of the show to be moderated by Samantha Highfill.
It would also have the usual autograph signing from the cast members but the highlight shall reportedly be the unveiling of the first official trailer for Season 6 of “Teen Wolf.”
It would be interesting also for fans to find out if Dylan O’Brien will be joining the cast members of “Teen Wolf” during the San Diego ComicCon panel because his presence would surely boost the stock of the TV series in the event and also to the fans of the show who will be coming to the event, notes the Parent Herald.
His attendance shall also be a confirmation that his character Stiles Stilinski will return to action in Season 6 of “Teen Wolf.”
Different kinds of creatures again
The sixth season of “Teen Wolf” on MTV shall reportedly introduce different kinds of creatures, consistent with the show’s strategy over the past five successful seasons.
It could be recalled that during the Season 5 finale, the show featured the Nazi werewolf and latest rumors have it that the popular TV show shall likewise build on the formula of other popular TV series like “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
According to rumors, the MTV series shall feature zombies and vampires and these creatures will likely serve as villains to the pack of Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski.
The pack also battled against the Dread Doctors in Season 5 so having zombies and vampires would no longer come as a surprise to many viewers of the show.
But showrunner Jeff Davis was quick to point out in a recent interview that “Teen Wolf” Season 6 shall have none of the zombies and the vampires.
