While filming for the sixth and final season of the American supernatural drama TV series “Teen Wolf” on MTV was ongoing, Dylan O’Brien was not able to shoot in full because he suffered an accident sometime in March while filming for “Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure.”
There were even reports saying that he will be replaced by another actor in the show and one of those who is being considered is Harry Styles of One Direction.
Apparently, those rumors were just meant to hype the sixth and final season of “Teen Wolf” as it has become clear that Dylan O’Brien will reprise his Stiles Stilinski role, but not in all of the episodes but in some.
His absence had to be factored in so it is likely that he will be present in episodes leading towards the second half of the hit TV series.
Incidentally, MTV recently released cast photos of “Teen Wolf” Season 6. There is one photo showing the main characters featuring Mason, Liam, Holland, Scott, Stiles, and Malia in the familiar tunnels underneath Beacon Hills.
Those who are familiar with the TV series know that the tunnels have been a featured set for some time now in “Teen Wolf.”
Playing with memories
Interestingly, in the individual portraits of the main characters, everyone from the group photo have their own solo shot with the exception of Dylan O’Brien’s Stiles Stilinski, who was replaced by Cody Christian’s Theo Raeken.
Keen observers say that the switch was because Dylan O’Brien was quite busy with his other acting projects on film. But some critics are saying that the absence of the actor’s individual portrait could possibly tie into the theme of Season 6 of “Teen Wolf,” which is going to be about memory.
Based on previous spoilers, Stiles will be taken by the Ghost Riders and that his friends will begin to forget him, details Hypable.
Once he is captured by the creatures, Stiles’ existence will be wiped away from the memories of his loved ones and family, which is part of the powers of the scary Ghost Riders.
In fact, not too long ago, all of the social media accounts of “Teen Wolf” momentarily disappeared. They returned soon after with the show thanking fans for remembering them.
Lydia will remember
Lydia, played by Holland Roden, will be among the first, if not the first “Teen Wolf” character who will realize that someone important to them mysteriously vanished, notes Game & Guide.
Apparently, Stiles’ confession of his love may have also helped Lydia to remember one of her closest friends because as the saying goes, love conquers all.
In a recent interview, Holland Roden revealed that Lydia shall be playing an important role in “Teen Wolf” Season 6 when it premieres on MTV on November 15.
She said that as the theme of the final season of the TV series tackles the loss of a loved one, viewers will witness several emotional scenes.
She refused to divulge though if Lydia, Scott, and the wolf pack will be able to rescue Stiles from the hands of the Ghost Riders who possess impressive powers that could capture a soul.
Meanwhile, during the Entertainment Weekly PopFest held in Los Angeles on October 30, the cast of “Teen Wolf” joined Samatha Highfill on stage as they talked about the upcoming sixth and final season of the show.
It was a fun night for the cast members of “Teen Wolf” who thrilled the crowd with a raucous and dance-heavy round of Truth or Dare and most importantly, some crucial information about the upcoming Season 6.
It was Khlyin Rhambo, who plays the openly gay Mason Hewitt on the TV series, who disclosed that Tyler Posey, who plays the lead wolf, Scott McCall, shall be directing an episode of Season 6 and fans are going to love it.
Cast members of the hit TV series are one in saying that the episode that Tyler Posey directed is one of the best ones for the whole season.
