The production of the next season of “Teen Wolf” is underway, and proceeding in relative secrecy – but from time to time, fans get to catch an interesting glimpse of what season 5 could bring, such as a recent spotting of Tyler Hoechlin with an entirely new appearance. The actor used to dress and style himself rather modestly, which also carried over to his character on the show. Now, he was spotted with a very different look, one that included a thick moustache – and fans have been speculating that this might have something to do with his role on the show.
Of course, it’s also possible that the actor is currently involved in another project that requires him to don this appearance, although there has been no indication of that from his side. In addition, the show’s producers recently went on record with some hints that the new season is going to bring some radical changes into the mix, with the storyline taking some interesting turns.
Derek Hale, the character played by Tyler Hoechlin, is targeted by the new developments in particular. He’s reportedly going to evolve quite a bit throughout this season, which could explain the new look, and could give some credibility to the speculation that the change in Hoechlin’s style is indeed related to his work on the show.
Meanwhile, the show might also lose a major character right from the start of season 5. It’s not known who that could be, or even if it’s going to happen at all, but Holland Roden recently stated that it’s possible that someone might not be coming back for the next season. It’s worth noting that his statement could have been said in a joking manner, although he has neither confirmed nor denied that yet. According to him, fans will just have to wait until the new season starts airing to find out if the cast is returning in full.
The show should resume in 2015, after a lengthy pause. Fans have been quite excited about the new season, and it’s expected to be the most interesting one yet, making some drastic changes to the overall style and presentation of the show. Whether or not these changes will be received positively by the fans is early to tell – but it’s certainly always risky to make major alterations to a show’s basic formula so late in its production. On the other hand, sometimes it’s really necessary when a series starts to lose its luster after a few seasons. The producers of “Teen Wolf” certainly know how to read their audience properly, so fans have had high hopes about the new season’s quality.
