When “Teen Wolf” showrunner Jeff Davis promised that Season 5B will be interesting, he definitely delivered. Episode 13, titled “Codominance” saw so many things that went down for the Beacon Hills favorites.
Shelley Hennig’s Malia and Cody Christian’s Theo got into a fight and Liam, played by Dylan Sprayberry, finally came face to face with Tyler Posey’s Scott for the first time since their altercation.
Stiles, played by Dylan O’Brien, went on a mission to bring Arden Cho’s Kira back in Beacon Hills and a shocking information about The Beast was revealed.
It turns out that Kira’s accomplishment while she was away, was not an easy one as she had a pretty serious battle with the skinwalkers.
She was able to take them down one by one until she was speared. What’s worse was that if she didn’t pass the skinwalkers’ test, she would become one of them forever.
Kira’s mom also revealed that it could take a long time to get her fixed and if she didn’t get help, the kitsune could consume her.
This leads to Stiles and Scott’s road trip to New Mexico to find Kira and bring her back home. Liam then showed up and it was the first time that he and Scott meet again after their huge fight.
It turns out that Liam wanted to let Scott know what was going on with Theo but Scott already knew most of it. He also wanted to join the road trip but his Alpha, knowing there’s still unresolved tension between them, told him to just stay behind.
As Theo and Kelsey Chow’s Tracy went looking for The Beast, it was revealed that The Beast turned back into its human form during the day, alluding that the monster is probably someone everyone knows.
Elsewhere, Holland Roden’s Lydia was still hallucinating in Eichen House. Meredith, played by Maya Eshet, then urged her to learn how to use her voice as a weapon.
Lydia then had a hallucination in the library where all the initials of her friends they carved into the shelves are gone and if she didn’t come back, her friends would all die.
Theo found Malia searching for clues on Deaton at the clinic and the pair’s cute argument scene was probably the episode’s icebreaker from all the tension piling up.
During Kira’s ultimate test, she faced an oni, but every time she would take a good shot, she was injured. Finally, she was able to defeat it with her fox spirit.
Things took a crazy turn when the skinwalkers wouldn’t let Kira go. Just when she and her mom were about to surrender, Scott comes in and turns all wolf on the skinwalkers.
Fans were happy that the episode finally brought Scott and Kira back together, but trouble started to brew again when Mason and Liam showed up at Scott’s and revealed that Theo was looking for a blind Alpha in the person of Deucalion.
MTV already released the synopsis for the upcoming episode and it suggests that Malia will create a plan to save Deaton from the Desert Wolf.
Episode 14 titled “The Sword and the Spirit” will also see Scott attempting to reunite with his old pack.
As per Design & Trend, although they are no longer the biggest threat this season, the identities of the Dread Doctors are set to be revealed. But fans might have to wait until the Season 5 finale for that to happen.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Davis reveals that the fate of the Dread Doctors will be dealt with in episode 20 and what’s interesting is how these masked surgeons will be coming in Season 6.
