Picking up the personal lesson from what happened to her mother who was recently diagnosed to have cancer, Taylor Swift told her millions of fans to have their parents screened at the soonest opportunity they can get so as to determine whether their folks have cancer or not.
The “Shake It Off” singer said that her mother looks healthy and fine but when she and her brother asked her recently for a medical screening, they were eventually saddened to know that the results showed that their mom has cancer.
She refused to divulge further details, preferring instead to keep the plans of treatment a private family matter for the rest of the way, notes MSN Entertainment.
A shocker
The news came as a shocker to Taylor Swift and her family. And it was ironic that it came at the heels of her recent domination of the iHeart Music Awards on March 29 by winning the ‘Artist of the Year’ honors and also winning the ‘Song of the Year’ for her hit dance tune “Shake it Off.”
She also won a third citation by bagging the ‘Best Lyrics” for yet another hit song of hers, “Blank Space.”
It was a complete domination from the country music-turned-pop singer that many were actually saying that the iHeartRadio Music Awards should be called iHeartTaylorSwift Awards, points out Yahoo! News.
She also came through with one of the highlights of the awarding rites when she provided the guitar accompaniment to Madonna while the pop icon renders her new music “Rebel Heart” on stage. But instead of the energetic and upbeat version of the song, Madonna slowed it down a bit as Taylor Swift played guitar next to her.
In her acceptance speech for the ‘Artist of the Year’ award, Taylor Swift said that she appreciates the recognition from iHeartRadio Music Awards and also the fans, which she mentioned as the ones who really make her happy. She said that she felt that she has gotten closer to her fans and to people who love music every year, as she delivered her message in near tears.
It was Madonna who presented Taylor Swift with the ‘Song of the Year’ award and the pop icon introduced her as her favorite guitar player.
Star-studded
Just like last year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, this year’s event was also star-studded including A-list music celebrities such as Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Iggy Azalea and a lot more.
Instead of the typical awards show seats, iHeartRadio Music Awards had the awardees, nominees, and the special guests seated at traditional tables.
Taylor Swift was seated on the table that had Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, and Ryan Seacrest on it. Chris Brown and Ludacris were on the same table.

Justin Timberlake went home with the “Innovator Award’ for his accomplishments as a total entertainer. The former N Sync band member said that he was being called different when he was growing up and it’s good that her mother taught him that being different is also a good thing. Eventually, his being different enabled him to make a difference in the lives of others and he thanked his mother for it.
