Taylor Swift is Most Charitable Celebrity for 3 Years in a Row!

2014 is proving to be a banner year for Taylor Swift.

After the highly successful release of her fifth studio album titled “1989” in October 27, which went straight to platinum within a week’s time selling more than 1.2 million copies, Taylor Swift went on a whirlwind schedule to promote her album and most of the cuts in it.

A good number of the singles in her “1989” album have either made it to the top of the Billboard’s singles chart or are on the way there.

Early in December, she was among the select celebrities who added more glitz to the Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2014 held in London.

And during her 25th birthday celebration on December 13, there was a bevy of Hollywood celebrities who joined her, indicating how popular Taylor Swift has become the world over. Any of the millions of Swifties (that’s how fanatics of Taylor Swift call themselves) can attest to that.

In what appears to be a fitting cap off to her very good year, Taylor Swift was adjudged by DoSomething.org as 2014’s most charitable celebrity.

Taylor is receiving the award for the third year in a row. For this year, she has once again topped the list that includes other big-name celebrities including Laverne Cox, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and Emma Watson, according to a report by US Weekly.

Generous indeed

DoSomething.org handed the title to Taylor Swift because of her profound generosity when she donated all proceeds of her “Welcome to New York” single to New York City Public Schools.

For her going beyond her social obligations, DoSomething.org voted her as the year’s best celebrity do-gooder, a title which Taylor Swift has held on to since 2012.

Rounding up the top five are Laverne Cox, who was cited for being the voice of the LBGTs through her role in the critically-acclaimed TV series “Orange is the New Black;” Beyonce, for bringing feminism to the forefront; Miley Cyrus, for caring for the homeless people, and Emma Watson, for also highlighting the essence of feminism.

Massive year

The Daily Beast referred to 2014 as not just a banner year for Taylor Swift but a massive year.

It was also during the year when Taylor made the big move from her adopted home of Nashville in Tennessee to New York City, which somehow signal her transition from a country singer to a pop star. Nothing can be more concrete as her “1989” album as proof of Taylor Swift’s transformation.

Taylor Swift

Despite being seen in many celebrity events, Taylor Swift has actually never driven a car all by herself in the last five years, according to celebrity info tidbit by BuzzFeed.

BuzzFeed also let loose about the info that as a songwriter, Taylor actually writes at least 40 songs for every album she makes.

As “1989” only had 13 cuts in it, Taylor must have kept the 27 other songs, which is actually more than enough to make two more albums.
