Taylor Swift Gets Real on Her Latest GQ Magazine Cover; Sets Record Straight on Meaning Behind ‘Bad Blood’!

Swift did not confirm nor deny if the song was indeed a swipe to Perry, but it looks like bringing up her previous statement in an interview forced the singer to give out some details amid saying the song doesn’t point to anyone in particular.

In a Rolling Stone sit-down interview in August last year, she was quoted admitting that the song was about a friend-turned-foe, but their long-standing argument wasn’t even about a guy. The two singers apparently share an ex-boyfriend, John Mayer.

Well, Tay’s still sticking to her guns on not dropping names but she exclusively tells GQ that the only reason she revealed information on who the song was about was to not offend an ex-boyfriend she’s still in good terms with.

The 25-year-old singer also talks about her run-in with Kanye West during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. She says that it may have been a blessing in disguise.

As a refresher, the rapper publicly humiliated the “Wildest Dreams” singer while she was about to claim her award for Best Female Music Video. West went on stage claiming that Taylor was undeserving of the win. The two finally patched things up when Swift presented Kanye with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during this year’s MTV VMAs.

Six years after that controversy, the “Blank Space” songstress looks back and confidently says that the moment led to one of her favorite things about her career. Taylor reveals that the incident definitely took her by surprise, but she’s in a place right now where she has earned Kanye’s respect and it gives her a good disposition.

GQ’s November issue comes out October 26 and the cover story on Taylor is now up on the magazine’s website. The pop singer is also sharing photos of her photoshoot for GQ on her Instagram.
