We finally know the last two characters that will be included in the “Kombat Pack” DLC for the upcoming “Mortal Kombat X” – Tremor and Tanya will be joining the fun, returning from previous games in the series. Tremor has been a rather unique character so far in particular, as the only way to play him in any of the previous games was in the Challenge Tower in “Mortal Kombat 9”, and only in the PS Vita edition of the game too.
His special skill is Earth Magic, and he can summon stones to shoot at his enemies, as well as manipulate the forces of nature to his advantage. Then we have Tanya, a more familiar character who was first introduced in “Mortal Kombat 4” and became a regular member of the cast since then, with the last game to feature her being “Mortal Kombat: Armageddon”.
She’s not only extremely agile and versatile in using her body to inflict pain, but she’s also capable of fire magic, and fans have been very excited to see her returning. In other news, Liu Kang has also been confirmed to be coming back to the game with an even more exciting confirmation – he won’t even be included in a DLC, but he’ll be in the roster of the base game! The DLC will give him some extra goodies though, as he will get a classic skin as part of the new content package.
Fans have been curious about how exactly Liu Kang will be presented in the new game, as he was supposedly killed in the last installment in the series – but then again, “Mortal Kombat” is not exactly a franchise to build on realism, so the writers can find numerous different ways to easily bring him back into the game.
Other interesting characters that we’ll get to see in the new “Mortal Kombat X” include Jason Voorhees from “Friday 13th”, Mileena, Reptile and Ermac. Predator will also be included as extra content, and various characters are going to get additional skins as well.
The one thing we don’t yet know is when these content packs are going to be made available. Release dates are still not known, and we don’t know how any of the skins are going to look either, as the announcement didn’t include any screenshots of the new content. Of course, given the amazing style of the game’s artists, we expect nothing less than great skins that look perfectly in line with the game’s setting, and give players a good incentive to get the new content. Players will have the opportunity to buy all content packs together as one full “Kombat Pack” for $29.99, which will also give early access to all content as it’s released.
