Aside from “The Expendables 4,” everybody was looking forward to Sylvester Stallone to take on a key role in Jim Mickle’s “Godforsaken” crime drama.
In fact, many are saying that “Godforsaken” would have been a good follow-up movie from Stallone after his success and critical acclaim in the movie “Creed” where he won a Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Globes. He also got nominated for the Academy Awards for the same role and in the same category.
“Godforsaken” is the story of an ex-con who hears about the death of a son he barely knows that he must get some default revenge, notes Birth Movies Death.
While it sounds like an average revenge movie, the involvement of Jim Mickle provided an interesting wrinkle during its production. “Godforsaken” would not be another slam-bang action like “The Expendables” movie series or the “Escape Plan” which were both sleepwalkers for Stallone.
Makes sudden exit
Unfortunately, the latest word on the movie is that the 70-year-old veteran Hollywood action star has suddenly left the film, which he helped develop at the script level.
There has been no official reason as to why Stallone decided to depart the movie but it could be that we saw another project with better potentials.
Most critics believe that Sly is passing up a golden opportunity with “Godforsaken” because they think that the movie is a small crime drama with enormous potential, notes A.V. Club.
The movie was supposed to start production in two weeks but the departure of Sylvester Stallone may have an impact on the movie, whose screenplay was written by Daniel Casey.
Many are saying that Stallone would make his reasons known in the near future, although if the current timeline is to be considered, the actor may be busy filming in China for “The Expendables 4.”
Working to make America great again
Incidentally, Sylvester Stallone recently released an advertisement on television that some of his supporter claim as something that transcends beyond politics.
However, towards the end of the video, Donald Trump was quoted as saying in a film clip that he and the Americans are going to make America great again.
The video, entitled “Keep Moving Forward,” features Stallone’s emotional dialogue from his 2006 film “Rocky Balboa” and setting it against images of the 9/11 terrorist attacks as well as the iconic American achievements.
Stallone was quoted as saying in the video that the world is not all sunshine and rainbows. He added that the world is a mean and nasty place.
He went on to explain that nobody is going to hit as hard as life, adding that it is not about how hard one hit but about how hard one can get hit and still keep moving forward.
Many fans have praised the video for its straight-from-the-heart message. One YouTuber said that he loves the video and he will be using it as his encouragement in school and his life.
One fan also said that while he is no politician, but the advertisement was everything.and he also believes that it has transcended beyond mere politics.
