If there is anyone that knows a little something about boxing it would be Sylvester Stallone. Having been through all of the Rocky movies, plus a new one on the way, and the Rambo movies where he is seen surviving the baddest enemies around, Sylvester Stallone has seen it all. Seeing that he has a thing or two to say about the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is not much of a surprise. The fight is coming up on the 2nd of May and it has been billed as one of the biggest of all time.
Sylvester Stallone was asked by the official beer of the fight, Tecate, to come together with Larry Merchant and discuss the upcoming fight. There are a series of videos posted online that show the two sitting around talking about the boxing match. Sylvester Stallone is the first to speak up about Mayweather, his defense and technical perfection mostly, while Merchant has a different view.
Merchant likes Pauquiao in the fight and mostly due to his tenacity and punching power, but of course, both of the boxers are going to give it their all the minute they get in the ring. It might have a little more to do with the fact that Merchant and Mayweather go way back as they have both criticized the other in public. The fight is set to be a big one and even the official beer maker has decided to give a little back.
If you are planning to watch the pay-per-view and drink Tecate beer at the same time, the company has offered a refund of up to half of the cost of the fight depending on how much beer you purchase. Most people would flip if they saw they were going to be paying $100 for a pay-per-view event, but that is the going price and if you are sitting in the arena, you are paying even more to watch it live.
Sylvester Stallone is not about to be getting in the ring himself any time soon, however, it has been announced the he will be putting together another “Rocky” movie. In this movie, he will be training the grandson of Apollo Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan. Some of the first images from the filming of the movie have been posted online for fans to check out. The movie is going to follow the grandson of Creed through the ranks while being trained by the “best” all the way through.
