Weiss explains what waits for Lily and Toby in Season 5 now that they are parents. The two will struggle in being first-time parents and will discover more differences they have with each other when it comes to raising their baby boy.
The showrunner says that Toby and Lily’s journey had been a big part of Season 4 and it has touched many lives because of how relatable it was.
She adds that ending that particular story arc was a truly beautiful moment and one of her favorite moments in the series.
Lizzy says that ending that journey for both Lily and Toby meant starting the journey for both of them again but this time, baby Carlton is in the picture.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Variety, the network’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Development Karey Burke said that every season, “Switched at Birth” continues to deliver something fresh on the table.
She adds that it continues to tackle relatable storylines and important social issues that reflect what the viewers experience daily.
So far, four episode titles for the upcoming season had been released. The premiere will be titled “The Call” and is directed by Allan Arkush.
The second episode is entitled “This Has to Do with Me,” the third is titled “Surprise,” and the fourth one is named “Relations of Lines and Colors.”
