In a recent interview, D.W. Moffett has pointed out that despite the initial storyline of Season 5 of “Switched at Birth,” referring to the divorce proceedings between his character John and Kathryn, it seems that the couple shall be able to patch things up and give their relationship a go.
With the episode title of the Season 5 finale, which is also the last for the show, it is clear that John is not going to die in the TV series.
In fact, Moffett said that his character will become stronger as the plot of Season 5 progresses, which means that he could be referring to his character’s physical condition.
Critics also believe that the episode title of the series finale is a good sign that no one is getting divorced nor die in “Switched at Birth.”
Executive producer Lizzy Weiss has been quoted as saying that the fifth and final season of the TV series on Freeform shall have a satisfying conclusion and would give the viewers a feel-good feeling at the end.
Incidentally, episode 2 of Season 5 of “Switched at Birth” is entitled “This Has To Do With Me,” which shall be directed by D.W. Moffett.
Apart from tying all loose ends, Season 5 of “Switched at Birth” on Freeform shall feature several returning stories from the previous seasons, revealed actress Vanessa Marano in a recent interview.
