‘Switched at Birth’ Season 5 Likely to Give a Happy Ending to Bay Kennish and Daphne Vazquez!

The fifth and final season of the American teen drama series “Switched at Birth” on Freeform is expected to air in January next year with 10 episodes.

While series creator Lizzy Weiss would have wanted to have more episodes to expound on her storytelling for “Switched at Birth,” the 10 episodes were also more than sufficient to wrap up the TV series on a high note the same way that it started back in 2012.

Based on the showrunner’s hint on her social media account, it seems clear that the two teenagers who were switched at birth, Bay Kennish, played by Vanessa Marano, and Daphne Vasquez, played by Katie Leclerc, would have their happy endings during the Season 5 finale.

According to the spoilers of the TV series, Bay is likely to move on with a new boyfriend when Season 5 begins after they return from China.

Daphne and her boyfriend Mingo, on the other hand, are expected to be enjoying every part of their happy relationship. The last time that viewers saw the two of them, they had a major disagreement when Daphne decided to intern near Quinn, details Movie News Guide.

The other characters of the TV series are also expected to have their happy endings to make viewers really feel good and satisfied after watching the 10th and finale episode of “Switched at Birth.”

Actors on the director’s chair

Among those who shall be having their closure in the TV series are John, played by D.W. Moffett, and his wife Kathryn, played by Lea Thompson.

There are reports saying that the couple might divorce soon but if the trend is towards making viewers happy, it looks unlikely to materialize in “Switched at Birth” Season 5.

Incidentally, the two actors have also directed one episode each of the 10-episode Season 5 of “Switched at Birth” so just like showrunner Weiss, they also have their emotional investment on the TV series and would like nothing but a good old happy ending, notes the International Business Times of India.

Weiss also shared all the titles of the 10 episodes on her Twitter account before being officially released by the network. But she has yet to disclose its airing dates, pending the official confirmation or announcement from Freeform.

Unforgettable finish

Lizzy Weiss is confident that what they were able to accomplish in the 10 episodes of Season 5 would be enough to give “Switched at Birth” an unforgettable finish as a TV series.

Filming for the Season 5 of the TV series already concluded in April and Weiss announced on her Twitter account that “Switched at Birth” returned to where it first started. Apparently, the final scene of the Season 5 finale was shot at the same place where the first scene of the pilot episode was taken five and a half years ago. She also showed on Twitter a photo of the writers’ building in Sta. Clarita, California.

In addition to Weiss, other cast members of “Switched at Birth” are continuously sharing updates on social media including Katie Leclerc who posted an Instagram a very beautiful photo of the Kennish-Vasquez families, which was taken during the last day of filming.

Lucas Grabeel, who plays Toby in the TV series, also posted on Twitter a picture of his and Lily Summer’s baby saying that the little tot did well during the production. Lily Summer is being played in the TV series by Rachel Shenton.
