The second half of “The Walking Dead” Season 5 is returning on February 8 and its latest one-minute teaser trailer shows that the stars of the holocaust drama series will be going yet again on a survival mode.
Unlike the previous trailers of the “The Walking Dead” where there is almost always a threat of ‘walker’ or zombie deluge, the latest trailer is devoid of any gory and scary risk but featured a tastefully and artfully crafted teaser showing the main cast members in their key elements.
Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes starts off the trailer by quipping “Surviving together is all that matters.” Subsequently the other members of the cast were shown in their full battle gear mode going through the woods and other places as they are each shown battling it out with walkers, who are not shown on the screen, details E! News.
The main cast do all sorts of actions in dealing with walkers as each are shown either slicing, slashing, piercing, or shooting at something in fury.
Aside from Rick, the trailer also featured Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Steven Yeun as Glenn, Melissa McBride as Carol, and the rest of the gang, all showing their rage against the undead.
The teaser also showed everyone in slow motion doing their respective actions against the walkers making it look quite eerie but powerful. Overall, the trailer is absorbing and makes you want to see the next episode right away, which is the main intention of the producers of TV’s most successful holocaust drama to date.
Mid-season debacle
When episode 10 of Season 5 begins, Rick and his gang would have to deal with the death of Beth, which was quite a downer during the mid-season finale that also drew negative fan reactions and comments.
Some were even asking the producers to do some kind of twitches in the plot just to make sure that Beth is alive again when Season 5 resumes in February.
But Beth was clearly shot in the head during the last episode of the first half of Season 5, so other fans are thinking that the only way she could get back and be in the show again will be as a walker. Still, that is not possible since she was already shot in the head and is thus no longer capable of rising again as a walker.
Whatever happens along that particular point of the storyline, Rick and his gang, as the teaser trailer clearly showed, will be back into their old selves trying to survive again and again not only from the walkers but also from other living elements who may share their zest to continue living but who nonetheless does not believe in the cause of their group. And that’s where the plot of “The Walking Dead” usually thickens.
