‘Supernatural’ Season 11 Will See Sam and Dean Winchester Looking Back to their Past to Overcome The Darkness

The CW fantasy horror TV series “Supernatural” will return to the small screen on October 7 and it is set to bring back the Sam and Dean tandem, says actor Jared Padalecki in the just concluded ComicCon 2015 event in San Diego.

Padalecki, who plays the role of Sam Winchester in the series, said what he knows at the moment about Season 11 is that he and his brother, Dean Winchester, played by actor Jensen Ackles, will fight a tough enemy known as The Darkness.

Since the new villain is pre-biblical, the brothers in the “Supernatural” series have no one to turn to because everyone has no idea who or what The Darkness is. The brothers need to look back in the past to overcome the challenge.

“Supernatural” executive producer Andrew Dabb confirmed that because of the need of the brothers to learn more about their past, the upcoming season will have flashbacks, notes TV Line. However, knowing their past will bring interesting consequences for both Sam and Dean.

Meanwhile, there is no confirmation yet whether the father of the Winchester brothers will be resurrected in the upcoming season of “Supernatural.” Nevertheless, fans are really excited to have a John Winchester resurrection in the series.

It is not only the fans who are excited for this comeback, even the actor who plays the character loves to make a comeback in the show. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played the role of John Winchester, said he is always open for the possibility to work with Padalecki and Ackles as both actors are his good friends.

Although there is no official confirmation yet, Morgan is hopeful that, if ever he will be resurrected in the show, the filming schedule of his current show, “The Good Wife,” will not be affected.

On the other hand, executive producer Dabb thinks the resurrection of Morgan’s character will surely happen, but as of now, they are not sure when will be the right time for the show to do it. If ever they will bring the character back, he wanted to make sure that it will have a good impact to the storyline. He said he does not want to resurrect any character and then just waste the opportunity.

The “Supernatural” showrunner Jeremy Carver revealed a spoiler for the upcoming season. He said there will be an exclusive Impala episode that will be titled “Baby.”

In the series, the “Baby” is a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala which is considered by Dean as his most prized possession. It can also be considered as a “supernatural” car since the protagonists of the story use the vehicle to travel within the country while hunting for supernaturals. In the car’s trunk, there are several fake IDs and weaponry that the lead characters use while traveling.

According to Ackles, the “Baby” episode is exciting since it has a Tom Hardy film aura on it where everything happens inside the car. Nonetheless, the actor is a bit anxious because he might feel a little claustrophobic if the entire episode will be shot inside the box.

Supernatural Season 10

The actor admitted that he is very nervous to do the episode and even joked that perhaps the production staff can ask Tom Hardy to come over and be the show’s guest star for “Baby.”

The first episode of the upcoming season will pick up right where the previous season’s finale left off and that is the release of the new big bad villain, The Darkness. The enemy was unleashed in “Supernatural” Season 10 because the Mark of Cain was removed on Dean’s arm.
