The series is being filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada and its surrounding areas. It was originally created by Eric Kripke who spent nearly 10 years in developing the series while in Canada. He also spent several years in pitching it unsuccessfully before The WB, which is the forerunner of The CW, picked it up and began airing it on September 13, 2005.
On June 25, executive producer Jim Michaels also posted on his Twitter account that the production team has been scouting for locations for “Supernatural.” One of his two tweets has the location of Burnaby in British Columbia, Canada.
Although there have been previous reports that Jared Padalecki, who plays Dean, will no longer be part of “Supernatural” Season 11, the actor quickly dismissed the rumors by saying he just needed some time to be with his family that is why he was missing conventions to promote the show. He expressed excitement nonetheless to go back to filming for the 11th season.
During the series finale of Season 10, Sam, Dean, Castiel, and Crowley were left in a predicament. The final episode is titled “My Brother’s Keeper” where the Winchester brothers were enveloped by The Darkness even as the angel struggles to fend off Rowena’s guard dog spell that forced him to kill the King of Hell.
