The Winchester brothers Sam and Dean will be facing their toughest challenge yet when Season 11 of the American horror fantasy TV series “Supernatural” returns to The CW network on October 7.
The cast members led by Sam, played by Jared Padalecki, and Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, were at the ComicCon 2015 to confirm that the Winchester brothers will be battling against the swarm of gloom which The Darkness will bring.
Padalecki said during the ComicCon panel that they have nobody to turn to except each other because The Darkness is a pre-biblical force and no one knows anything about it, details the International Business Times.
The cast also confirmed that the Season 11 premiere will pick up where the Season 10 series finale left off, about the time when The Darkness starts consuming the world.
During the series finale of Season 10, Rowena freed The Darkness from its confinement by conjuring up a spell to remove the Mark of Cain, which has been keeping the destructive primordial entity contained. The annihilation of the Mark of Cain actually saved Dean from demon hood but allowed the tsunami of evil to flood the earth. It also trapped the brothers in their beloved Impala.
The biggest bad in a long time
Zap2it describes The Darkness, which even God could not destroy accordingly, is to be the series biggest bad in a long time.
Jeremy Carver, executive producer of “Supernatural,” said at the San Diego ComicCon that The Darkness is something of a bed-time story that people have heard about but not dealt with it at all. He says that it puts all of the animals of the kingdom on high alert.
Carver also hinted that Season 11 of the “Supernatural” will see Sam and Dean trying to figure out who is The Darkness, what does it want, and how powerful it is. Because the only way to defeat a supernatural force is to know what it is and determine what its weakness is, if any.
When Sam and Dean get into their senses and start dealing with the havoc that they just unleashed, they will realize that only the two of them can stop The Darkness and contain it once again.
While it was not intentional on their part to unleash The Darkness because Sam only wanted to save Dean, they have become more united than ever in the cause and will share the same thinking that since they were the ones who broke it, they will be the ones to fix it too.
New femme fatale as villain
The premier episode of Season 11 of “Supernatural” will be titled “The Bad Seed” and it looks like it is referring to the femme fatale Amara who was summoned to earth when The Darkness was unleashed during the series finale of Season 10.
Amara is described as somebody in her late 20s who possesses an acid tongue and seductive beauty, but the production are still mum on who will be the actress who shall take on the new villain character.
Amara will be new to earth and she will not be impressed with the place. However, that would not stop her from sticking around and wreaking havoc. She is set to recur throughout Season 11 of the series and the Winchester brothers Sam and Dean, will have to keep her in check when the show returns.
Jensen Ackles has recently posted on his Twitter account filming updates about “Supernatural” when he teased on June 24 that he is back on a plane and that he is coming to Season 11. It was reported that Ackles will be directing the premiere episode of “Supernatural.”
