So far in season 10 of “Supernatural”, we’ve seen Sam and Dean trying hard and struggling quite a bit as they were trying to deal with Mark, and according to reports, this will be taken even further in the new episodes of the show, when it returns to the screen on March 18. Episode 15, called “The Things They Carried”, will air on that date and resume the season, and it will show several important plot developments, according to the preview that’s been released.
First, we’ll see Cole visiting the Winchester boys, which alone has several interesting implications. We’ll also see Sam disregarding the orders he’s been given to stop looking for a cure for the Mark of Cain, and continues in his search. It’s been implied that he’ll soon have a breakthrough, although it’s not clear if we’ll actually get to see that in episode 15, or if that’s being set up for a later part of the season.
Dean is starting to get suspicious of Sam however, and it looks like Sam won’t be able to continue hiding what kind of work he’s doing for much longer. Lucky for him, Dean is forced to shift his attention to something else, as he gets a new murder case where they encounter Cole, leading the three to team up.
They eventually discover that there is an infestation from a Khan worm going around, turning people into murderers after the worm makes its way into their minds. And, as if it wasn’t obvious that the writers were setting up the characters for something nasty with this revelation, Cole is the one who gets infected by the worm and his mind starts to succumb to it.
It’s been claimed that Dean will have to kill Sam in the end, and if that’s true, then the show’s fans are in for some very dramatic developments, not just in episode 15 but beyond it as well. It’s clear that the writers of “Supernatural” are willing to disregard all boundaries when they really want to move the plot forward in a dramatic way, and while this can be a bit stressful to some fans, it’s the perfect premise for a dark, dramatic show with a deep plot.
Of course, the producers of “Supernatural” have still managed to add a noticeable light-hearted note to the whole configuration despite the grim theme of the show, which is one of the reasons for the strong positivity that has been going around towards “Supernatural” ever since it was first brought to the screen. It’s a show that does many things right, and once it’s back on March 18, its fans are in for quite the ride.
