Finnish game developer Supercell of the freemium mobile MMO (massively multiplayer online game) strategy video game “Clash of Clans” has evened out the playing field among gamers by addressing trophy dumping strategies of some gamers to gain advantage at a lower level.
Some gamers have been dumping their trophies to make attacks at a lower level within the “Clash of Clans” system, which gives them undue advantage since it would be like pitting a veteran versus a beginner in a game.
Supercell made an important update to address the problem by altering the “Clash of Clans” multiplayer algorithms to prevent or penalize trophy dumping on the platform, notes the Inquisitr.
According to an employee of Supercell, who used the pseudonym Markika, in a statement said that the constant goal of the game developer is to better motivate and incentivize players to attack opponents a their level of skills and progress.
The employee explained that the company has gone straight to the multiplayer matchmaking algorithms so if a player is on a certain level of the game, he can only engage somebody who is on the same level and not below such level. Should they resort to dump their trophies and go to a lower level, they would surely find it difficult to get a match because Supercell has already marked them in the algorithm.
Temporary break
Sometime in the middle of last month, Supercell announced that its very popular mobile strategy game will undergo maintenance to fix some major bugs as well as significantly improve gameplay.
The maintenance of “Clash of Clans” shall also end the training bonus for Hog Riders and Balloons.
The advisory on gamers was announced in the “Clash of Clans” official Twitter account which said that the game’s maintenance break will soon be coming and that gamers have their last chance to train those Hog Riders and Balloons in half the time for half the cost.
The latest update on “Clash of Clans” will be rolled out to both iOS and Android versions of the game which include additional features for the Clan Perks. Players can now work on improving their respective clan’s level and earn various perks as well as badges.
The new update shall also enable players to upgrade their Cannons up to level 13. It shall also allow players who are currently members of a clan but want to leave can do so without any difficulty or problem or prerequisites just like in the past.
Fixing the bugs of the game
The roll out of the Clan Perks has triggered the emergence of several bugs which is what Supercell will be addressing in the upcoming maintenance.
The developer also disclosed that the Clan XP bug which does not reward gamers with the correct XP at the end of the Clan wars has already been addressed from a previous maintenance. It also fixed the visual effect of Dragon fire breath attacks.
In addition, players shall no longer be able to see Teslas on other players’ profiles. The recent maintenance has also fixed the reported ‘Accept’ button error whenever players are requesting to join a clan.
