One of the better parts about popular competitive games is the sheer amount of attention they get from their community, and this is often a great opportunity for the developers to benefit by interacting with their fans and probing them for opinions on the future of the game. The Nintendo Direct is apparently going to run yet another segment on “Super Smash Bros”, according to recent reports, and even though it’s going to be the last one for the broadcast, it should still be an interesting piece for fans of the game.
According to reports, Nintendo Direct has so far had three broadcasts for “Super Smash Bros”, and they have covered various aspects of the title, including talking about some of its DLC in detail. We don’t know exactly what the broadcast is going to do with its new edition, but fans and critics alike are expecting something in the same tone right now.
Fans seem particularly interested in hearing some more details about the upcoming DLC for the game, as there has been a lot of speculation about that and it’s not quite clear what Nintendo are planning to do right now. Cloud is known to be joining the game at this point, but other than that, we have no details about the character’s addition, such as how much his DLC is going to cost nor when it’s coming out on the market.
Other than Cloud, there are plenty of characters that can be added to the game as DLC, and of course fans have been speculating about the possibilities quite actively. There are lots of discussions about the game’s future on the Internet, and some gamers seem confident that this title could be made even more successful with the release of the right combination of DLC packs, especially if Nintendo decide to go for some characters that have been highly requested by the community in the franchise’s past.
Some particular requests that are coming up more frequently include Bayonetta and characters from “Splatoon”, as well as Bomberman. “Mass Effect” also seems to be a popular title in the suggestions from fans, although it’s also a controversial one and not everyone seems to agree with the inclusion of characters from it. Nevertheless, Captain Shepard gets brought up quite often in some of these discussions, so that’s something interesting for Nintendo to consider.
In some cases, fans have also been talking about the possibility of being more directly involved in the development of the game, such as by suggesting new balance changes and bug fixes. Of course, this is probably a far-fetched request, considering that the game’s developers probably have their own roadmap for its development, but it’s interesting to consider it as an option for the future of a highly competitive game like this one. There are also some ways in which fans can probably contribute to the game’s development that don’t involve directly altering its course, but we don’t expect that Nintendo are going to implement anything like that in the near future.
In any case, the future of the game itself is definitely looking good, as the studio is strongly determined to make the game succeed and to keep their fans entertained for a long time. There is no denying the competitive potential of “Super Smash Bros”, and the high skill ceiling of the franchise has been a major attracting factor for its fans for a long time now. Combined with the constant attention that it gets from its developers, it’s no wonder that this franchise has been so successful.
