From what we’ve seen in the preview, the level is actually going to implement the whole “editable stages” idea from its original game, and the environment will change with every match.
There are reportedly lots or components for the random generator to use, and this should lead to many different possible combinations for the levels themselves. Because of this, players will need to learn to adapt in order to perform well in those matches.
The addition of this stage has also prompted some players to discuss what other possible levels we might see in the future. More specifically, if the game could include some more unusual levels in a similar style. “Super Smash Bros” definitely predisposes towards such developments.
We should also remember that competitive players can sometimes be a bit pretentious when it comes to changes to their favorite games, so even if the new level doesn’t get the best reception from that part of the community, that still doesn’t mean that the level itself is bad. It would just mean that we won’t see it used in competitions and players will generally be less inspired to explore its tricks in detail. But we also see a lot of potential for a level like that to have countless little tricks to utilize.
