Super Smash Bros Director Masahiro Sakurai Discussed Long-Term Development of Title, Compares It to Star Wars!

This is probably similar to the case we have here, and “Super Smash Bros” is a game that can go in many different directions if the developers put their minds to it and follow the feedback of the community as closely as possible.

So far, this is exactly what they have been doing, and as a result we’ve seen some interesting additions to the game, with more possibly coming in the next months once the pace on its development picks up and more elements end up getting added. Let’s not forget that the lifecycle of the game must be organized carefully to avoid stuffing it with too many changes too fast.

Some players also seem to think that Nintendo should actually push even harder and take even more risks with the development of this title, going for more interesting decisions in its design.

And while that would be interesting to see, it’s also important to preserve the core of the game as it has certain properties which must not be taken away with any updates. Thankfully, Nintendo seem to realize that quite well and aren’t going to make a silly mistake like that with one of their most important series and one of the key selling points for their platform at the moment.
