While a new character DLC has yet to be confirmed for the Nintendo fighting video game “Super Smash Bros 4,” one good news that gamers and video game fanatics could look forward to is the possibility of the game being bundled to a game console and will be sold for a huge discount.
According to recent reports, “Super Smash Bros 4” would be sold during Black Friday where it shall possibly be bundled with the Nintendo Wii U gaming platform, notes the Christian Post.
Black Friday comes after the American celebration of Thanksgiving, and it is considered as the biggest sale event of the year in the US where huge discounts and clearing of store shelves normally occur.
However, the report about the bundling is just a rumor at this time and shall only be confirmed once Nintendo or any of the US retail giants make their respective announcement any day from now.
The traditional game for Wii U
It has been noted by critics that every year since the official release of the Nintendo Wii U back in November 2012, the Japanese gaming company has been promoting Mario games to go with the platform during Black Friday sales.
In 2012, Nintendo bundled “Nintendo Land” with the gaming console. The following year, it was the turn of “New Super Mario Bros U” to be sold with the Nintendo Wii U during the sales event. Other games that came with the Nintendo Wii U bundle during other sales events include “Mario Kart 8,” “Super Mario World 3D,” “Splatoon,” and “Super Mario Maker.”
If the rumors are true that “Super Smash Bros 4” would become the next video game to be bundled with Nintendo Wii U during a sales event, it would be quite awesome indeed for gamers, especially for Black Friday.
World record holders
Meanwhile, two avid and serious gamers of “Super Smash Bros” have landed their spots in the Guinness Book of World Records recently, reports the Event Hubs.
Klayton Schaufler is the first of the two world record-holders. He boasts of having the most knockouts on Super Smash Bros “Brawl,” the international event of Nintendo for “Super Smash Bros” gamers and fanatics.
Ken Hoang is the second world record holder and he got the title for being the highest-earning Super Smash Bros “Melee” player. “Melee” is another international competition event of Nintendo for “Super Smash Bros” gamers. However, Hoang’s award appears to be being contested by Alliance Armada as they may have actually made more earnings than him this year.
Guinness, nonetheless, has come up with a footage to highlight the latest accomplishments of the two video game competitors on “Super Smash Bros.”
Meanwhile, since the Fighter Ballot of “Super Smash Bros 4” has ended early last month, gamers have been waiting for the next character DLC that would arrive at the game as promised by the game developer.
The Fighter Ballot asked fans to vote for the character whom they would like to see included in the popular fighting game. Following the official release of “Super Smash Bros 4” on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS in April, Game Director Masahiro Sakurai initiated the Fighter Ballot during the Direct event.
In addition to legacy characters like Mewtwo from “Pokemon” and Lucas from “Mother 3,” “Super Smash Bros 4” gamers could actually see in theory anyone whom they want to see in the game through the Fighter Ballot.
The release of Roy from “Fire Emblem” and Ryu from “Street Fighter” as the third and fourth character DLCs to “Super Smash Bros 4” in June were not ballot-related.
At the end of the Fighter Ballot, the surprising yet loudest character to have been making the rounds on the rumor mill is that of Shovel Knight from the same game title.
The speculations appear to have a good leg to stand on since there were reports of a Shovel Knight being included in the list of DLC characters possibly coming to “Super Smash Bros 4.”
In addition, Shovel Knight made it to the circulation after leaks of Shovel Knight Amiibo came out days before it was released. Not only did it come as a surprise, it was actually shocking for Nintendo to have a third party directly release a new Amiibo figurine.
