‘Super Smash Bros 4’ Patch 1.1.5 Surprised Gamers with Balance Changes it Brought to the Fighting Game!

It was one of the most welcome surprises for gamers of the fighting game “Super Smash Bros 4” but Patch 1.1.5 was highly lauded when it was released in the middle of last month because of balance changes it brought to the game.

A number of enhancements and toning down were given to the fighter roster of the fighting game. Samus was given numerous buffs including an improved F-Smash and better F-Tilt. On the other hand, very strong characters such as Cloud were nerfed, details Event Hubs.

Prior to the release of Patch 1.1.5, the last character DLC to “Super Smash Bros 4” came out early in February when Bayonetta from the same-titled game and Corrin from “Fire Emblem Fates” arrived, initially via Nintendo eShop.

Officially called as the DLC Bundle 6, gamers were able to download the new character DLCs by downloading the Patch 1.1.4 first. It came out with a price of $15.48 for one platform or one character and $19.88 for both characters.

The release of the final “Super Smash Bros 4” character DLCs came out as a bittersweet feeling for gamers since they also knew that the game shall no longer see any substantial update. Apparently, Nintendo was looking to end things for “Super Smash Bros 4” with a bang and the Japanese gaming company sure did.

Released late in 2014, “Super Smash Bros 4” has been delivering waves of DLC to players since the first character, Mewtwo, was made available in April last year, notes N4BB.

The Super Smash Bros team never planned on making downloadable content so the announcement of Mewtwo came as a surprise to fans. However, after noticing the huge response of gamers to the announcement of Mewtwo, the Super Smash Bros team decided to continue making new DLCs.

‘Super Smash Bros 5’ on the way?

With that being said, there are now speculations that Nintendo may already be busy working on the development of the “Super Smash Bros 5” which would likely come out in the Nintendo gaming consoles within a few years time.

“Super Smash Bros 4” has been released on the Nintendo Wii U and the 3DS gaming consoles so its successor game will most likely be unveiled in the same platforms, with the possible inclusion of the company’s latest gaming platform, the NX.

While Nintendo has yet to make an announcement or statement regarding the “Super Smash Bros 5,” critics are of the opinion that the Japanese gaming company would surely not want one of its most prolific gaming franchise to end just like that. It is very likely that Nintendo is now in the thick of development with the game but does not want to say anything about it until they have something concrete to show for it.

When Bayonetta arrived, she was priced at $6 on either Wii U or the 3DS but if gamers decide to get Bayonetta for both platforms, it only cost them $7. Corrin, on the other hand, was retailed for $5 for either the Wii U or the 3DS and $6 for both.

Initial skepticisms from gamers

Gamers have some initial skepticisms when Bayonetta and Corrin were officially announced. They were initially worried that the two character DLCs could be another Mewtwo release where players waited for an hour for it to appear on the eShop.

True enough, the two character DLCs showed up on the afternoon of February 3rd at the Nintendo eShop.

Bayonetta came with the Umbra Clock Tower stage and two costumes reflecting her look in the original 2010 game and 2014’s Wii U-only “Bayonetta 2.”

The character was the overall No. 1 choice worldwide among Smash Bros fans when they were asked to nominate DLC characters for the game.
