A remixed version of the Legend of Zelda was made available during the Super Famicon. The Super Famicom happens to be Japan’s version of the Super NES. The Japanese players got to witness The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and now those outside Japan can get their hands on the same.
The original game is now called The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets. The trailer for the same is also available with language patches in English, French, and German, thanks to different players who uploaded the languages. The language patch and the downloadable game require some amount of hard work.
The broadcast of the original version of The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets happened in four different parts, each of which was four hours long. The game was broadcast once a week for four weeks, and the players could access it during that time. The different aspects of the game were unavailable on other occasions.
Nintendo made things even more tricky. Each of the broadcasts came along with an audio stream that had contained the voice acting and orchestrated music. Getting the whole four-hour broadcast along with the audio tracks is a difficult task.
For the players to get the complete version of the game, they had to sync the audio streams with the content of the game. Since some time has passed from the day it was first made available, Engadget reported that there different sites offering the full game.
CNET reported that The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stones Tablets is one of the forgotten spin-offs of the franchise. The game is a remix of the A Link to the Past. New challenges got incorporated to the classic title.
The game was available only on the Satellaview add-on for Super Famicon. With the add-on, the players could download a catalog of old games with the help of satellite connection. The broadcast for the same took place during a particular time.
Most of the game released in Japan aren’t available in the west. However, since The Legend of Zelda is one of the most popular franchises of Nintendo, it was sure that the developers would make The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets enter the western market.
The Super Famicom tried their best to limit the game to the broadcast time, but it wasn’t successful. The players in Japan made it available to the wider gaming community with the help of ROMs. A limited version of the game was available for a long time, but it was only recently that the whole game could be accessed.
The game is a hardcore Legend of Zelda game, but even the most seasoned Legend of Zelda missed it. The reason for this would be the strict broadcast time.
Nintendo is on the way to reveal their new console. Hours before they unveiled the new console, they released footages from their new Zelda title. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The trailer is available on Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube account. The gameplay is similar to the one showed in the demo version in 2016 E3. There are hang glides, link runs, swims and even snowboards. Link traverses an expansive version of Hyrule. The players also glimpse the artifacts that they would collect and which will later be of use in the game.
Nintendo will release Wii U and NX next year and will most likely pack in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with it.
