The second half of the sixth season of the American legal drama TV series “Suits” on USA Network has been internet fodder since its first half featuring 10 episodes ended on September 14.
It has been confirmed that the remaining six episodes of Season 6, also referred to as Season 6B, shall air beginning in January next year.
Over the past couple of weeks, most of the reports online about “Suits” are focused on the departure of actress Gina Torres from the TV series. Torres plays the role of Jessica Pearson, who is a senior partner at Pearson Specter Litt law firm so it was quite a big development for the show.
In fact, it has already overshadowed the prospect of seeing Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, finally pursuing law education after being released in prison to possibly become a full-fledged lawyer and perhaps work for the firm, as espoused by Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht.
Stealing the thunder from the show
However, it seems that every thunder about “Suits” and its promotions for Season 6B was stolen by reports about the real-life relationship of Prince Harry of England with actress Meghan Markle, who plays Rachel Zane in “Suits.” Rachel is also the romantic interest of Mike Ross in the TV series.
There are reports saying that Prince Harry has recently visited Meghan Markle while she was filming for “Suits” Season 6.
In addition, the same report also said that Prince Harry has subsequently introduced Meghan to his brother, Prince William.
Shortly thereafter, Prince Harry brought Meghan to Great Britain where the pair met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the first time, reports Game & Guide.
Contrary to rumors, the royal family has reportedly been more than welcoming to Markle, whose whirlwind romance with Prince Harry was one of the biggest tabloid stories in recent weeks.
A possible conflict
With the departure of Jessica Pearson from the law firm, reports are also rife in saying that there could be a possible conflict that may occur between Harvey and Louis Litt, played by Rick Hoffman.
Because of the departure of Gina Torres, there are rumors saying that Season 6 could be the last for “Suits,” reports the iTech Post.
However, series creator Aaron Korsh confirmed that there is going to be a Season 7 for “Suits” but hinted that it would already be enough for the show.
It has also been speculated that the next season will have lesser episodes, although they will still be able to conclude the series the way that they wanted it.
Korsh also revealed that a new character will be coming into “Suits” Season 6B to help Donna, played by Sarah Rafferty, solve the conflict between Harvey and Louis.
The showrunner did not reveal the surprise character and who is the actor who shall be taking on the role in Season 6B of “Suits.”
Aaron Korsh recently came out to debunk rumors saying that Gabriel Macht is leaving the series soon, following the departure from the show of Gina Torres.
He confirmed that all the series regulars of “Suits” will still be around for Season 7 of the hit legal drama.
Korsh also denied the speculations saying that there will be more cast members who shall be following the footsteps of Gina Torres. He explained that the actress decided to leave the show because she will be working on another TV show.
The showrunner said that there are no other cast members who have expressed their desire to bolt from the show.
Many fans of “Suits” believe that it is about time that the show features the relationship of Donna and Harvey moving forward, at least romantically that is.
Korsh cited that the planned romantic relationship of Donna and Harvey got a boost from the development of intimacy between the two during the first half of “Suits” Season 6.
As to whether it is going to mean a development in their romantic life moving forward remains to be seen.
