Suits Season 6 to See Rachel Developing Special Feelings for an Ethics Professor in the Absence of Mike!

With Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, about to serve his two-year prison sentence for fraud, Season 6 of the American legal drama TV series “Suits” on the USA Network, his fiancé Rachel, played by Meghan Markle, shall reportedly find a new love interest.

Based on the rumors now swirling online, Rachel will develop special feelings for Professor Dunbar, to be played by actor Malcolm Gets. Dunbar is an ethics professor at Columbia Law where Rachel is studying to earn her law degree.

Dunbar will also be crucial in developing Rachel’s legal skills and give her opportunities inside and outside the classroom, reports the Ecumenical News.

Those opportunities would also mean that Dunbar and Rachel will be spending more time with one another so they shall be able to get to know each other better.

After the recent debacle with Mike, there is really a good chance that she will fall for Dunbar. The most interesting thing about this rumored plotline is how would Mike react to the situation if and when he finds out.

Getting in the way of Mike and Rachel

It seems that showrunner Aaron Korsh is the one getting in the way of the relationship between Mike and Rachel, according to reports.

It could be recalled that during the Season 5 finale Mike called off his and Rachel’s wedding plans as he was to serve his two-year prison term.

He said that both of them will try to revisit the idea of marriage after two years so Rachel having a new love interest would surely negate that plan.

Reports have it that Korsh does not want Mike and Rachel to get married which is the reason why the rumored new love interest for Rachel was inserted in the upcoming Season 6, reports the Parent Herald.

In an interview, Korsh admitted that he had no intention of having the two characters marry but after hearing the arguments to just have the wedding and then have Mike go to prison to give something sweet for the fans, that’s when they decided to change it.

However, the show decided to stick to the original plan so that is what happened during the Season 5 finale when Mike called off the wedding with Rachel.

Sparing the law firm from persecution

The Season 5 finale of “Suits” saw Mike Ross also making a plea agreement with the court to serve a two-year sentence for fraud on the condition that his colleagues in the law firm Pearson Specter Litt shall be spared from persecution.

“Suits” Season 6 would premiere on July 13 and it will pick up where the Season 5 finale left off, with Mike Ross about to start his two-year jail time.

While Mike checks in at Danbury Prison and begins to adjust to his new life behind bars, Pearson Specter Litt has to deal with the fallout of the Mike situation.

After partners of the firm left, the rebuilding of the legal entity shall be left to the hands of Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, Jessica, played by Gina Torres, Louis, played by Rick Hoffman, Donna, played by Sarah Rafferty, and Rachel.

While picking up the pieces of whatever is left in the law firm, the remnants will find that the company’s troubles are far from over, where the other major storyline of “Suits” Season 6 shall revolve.

Korsh is very excited with all the possibilities in Season 6 of the TV series following the Season 5 finale when Mike left the rest of the Pearson Specter Litt law firm in complete disarray.

However, as a legal drama, it is also expected that Harvey and company shall be able to find a way to rebuild the law firm in the absence of Mike Ross.

But they will surely find it difficult considering that it was Mike and his innate capabilities who has gotten them all out in tricky situations in the past.
