Suits Season 5: What Could the New Episodes Bring, and What’s Definitely not Happening

The fifth season of the hit TV show “Suits” is not here yet, and it’ll probably be a while before we see it – and the excitement among fans is quite obvious, as most can’t wait to see how the story will move on. The producers of “Suits” have already proven that they’re willing to take risks with the show’s plot and character development, and it usually ends up working out fine for them. That, combined with some of the recent developments in the show, should be a pretty good indication that major things are coming up in season 5.

What exactly, we still don’t know – although there are plenty of fan theories around the Web, plus a few occasional remarks from the show’s staff which give a glimpse into what they could be planning. Some publications also have theories of their own, and some of them sound really plausible. It’s possible, for example, that we’ll see Mike getting into a very deep conflict with one of his colleagues, possibly even Harvey.

The situation has certainly not been very good for Mike lately, as his lies have been coming back to bite him in recent episodes, and it’s very likely that season 5 will push that even further, possibly even leading to some irreversible events in the storyline.

It’s also been speculated heavily that the firm is going to lose one of its workers, and it will likely be someone ranking rather highly. This could lead to the spawning of a new competitor for the firm, as even though they have already managed to make themselves attractive targets for many people, the writers of the show apparently can’t get enough when it comes to throwing challenges in the faces of their characters.

Last but not least, there’s also speculation that the season could feature even more flashbacks in order to give a deeper glimpse into the past of some characters, as the writers seem quite fond of that particular mechanic. Of course, while the flashback is generally a powerful writing technique, it can also backfire when used inappropriately and excessively, and writers should be careful not to include too many of them if they want to keep the overall quality of writing on a balanced level.

Last but not least, we also know that Harvey and Donna won’t be getting married, and Mike will not be attending Harvard – both have been debunked by Aaron Korsh in a single tweet, although given the tweet’s timing, it was likely meant for season 4 specifically. Not much else has been said about the story of the upcoming season so far, and fans have been patiently waiting for information.
