While the excitement for the second half of Season 5 of the American legal drama TV series “Suits” on the USA Network continues to build up as its premiere nears, there is also a major news for the show and its cast members.
Apparently, “Suits” has already been renewed by the USA Network for Season 6 and it is set to premiere in June 2016.
Meanwhile, the second half of Season 5, also known as Season 5B, will premiere on January 27, 2016 with its 11th episode titled as “Blowback.”
Episode 11 promises of great conflict as viewers will see genius lawyer Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, trying to extricate himself from the legal mess that he got himself into after being apprehended for fraud and detained during the midseason finale.
The biggest cliffhangers for fans of “Suits” are who sold out Mike to the authorities and what the motive of the squealer or squealers for doing so.
Executive producer Aaron Korsh said that the writers came up with different answers than he did on the identity of the rat. He also confirmed that the last six episodes of “Suits” Season 5 will disclose the identity of the person who ratted on Mike and what is his or her motive, details the Christian Today.
Korsh said that there is a long list of people who know Mike’s secret and there are certainly plenty of other people who could have found out and handed him to the authorities even though viewers never seen that those other people know Mike’s secret.
List of possible suspects
Based on the trailer of “Suits” Season 5B, Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, came up with a list of possible people that could have dropped the bomb on Mike Ross.
His list includes Father Parker, Claire, played by Troian Bellisario, and former friend Trevor, played by Tom Lipinski. Of course, there are still other possible suspects which viewers would eventually know once the second half of Season 5 premieres around the end of this month.
According to the synopsis of the upcoming episode, it will feature ruthless Assistant US Attorney General Anita Gibbs, played by Leslie Hope, who promises to put away Mike Ross for good. Gibbs brings a grave threat to Ross and his freedom and also puts a different kind of pressure on the firm.
It would be interesting to find out who would come to the legal rescue of Mike Ross but reports have it that Harvey would be the first to do so even though he has already resigned from the Pearson Specter Litt law firm.
Looking forward to dealing with the big twist
In a recent interview, actor Patrick J. Adams said that he is actually looking forward to how his character will deal with the big twist and the new dynamic that has just happened to Season 5 of “Suits.”
Adams said that he is really happy that his character has been forced to deal with something that the show was building up for a long time already. He said that the show could have done the full disclosure on Mike Ross’ fraud two seasons ago, details the International Business Times of UK.
The actor said that there was a little bit of treading water for his Mike Ross character, but not purposely. He said that he and the production team were always trying to find new ways to make Mike Ross always interesting. And his cover being blown is quite interesting indeed for the viewers and fans of the popular and widely-followed “Suits.”
The trailer of the upcoming episode of “Suits” also showed Anita Gibbs confronting Mike Ross and telling him that he may have thought that he has committed a victimless crime but he has not. Gibbs told Ross that he has committed fraud every time he picked up the phone, mailed the letters, signed his name, and appeared in court.
