The new episodes of “Suits” are almost here, and fans are understandably excited – a lot is expected to happen in the new season, and it’s shaping up to be the most dramatic and unpredictable one so far. We’re going to see the fallout from various decisions setting in, especially Donna and Harvey deciding to split up professionally (and in some ways, personally).
Mike is also going to go through some difficult times in the new season, although so far we mostly just have rumors about his woes. Donna will be working for Louis Litt at Pearson Specter Litt, something which obviously causes a lot of tension between the main characters. The last time we saw Donna, she admitted to Harvey that she loved him, and then went to work for Louis. While many saw her walk-out as a temporary setback, it’s pretty clear that it might not be so.
We’ve heard hints that Harvey is going to be facing some very difficult times in the new season, both in personal as well as professional terms. Replacing Donna is not going to be easy, although he’s going to have to find a way to deal with the loss. After all, Harvey wasn’t known as one of the top players in his field for no reason, and he should know how to handle working without Donna in the long run.
There are also reports that Harvey will be visiting a therapist in the new season, and the crew is currently looking for someone in their late 30s to early 60s to play the role. This would be interesting to see, as Harvey was traditionally portrayed as a tough, stoic character with strong personality, and seeing him visiting a shrink is going to be an interesting contrast to his usual self. According to the description, his therapist is also going to have a similar straightforward attitude like the one we’ve come to know Harvey himself for.
As for Mike, the other main character of the show, he recently got engaged to Rachel, but there will apparently be some serious troubles jeopardizing their relationship and putting it all at risk. We don’t know how things are going to play out exactly, but we’ve heard reports that Robert Zane, Rachel’s dad, will be handling a legal case with Mike which will lead to some disagreements in their relationship.
However, the season will also focus on the two planning their wedding, so the writers of the show seem to really want to get them together and have their relationship survive. We don’t know if that’s what will happen in the end, but we can certainly hope for a positive development on that front.
