Street Fighter 5 Exclusive to PS4 and the PC, Includes Cross-Platform Play, Gamers to Witness Ryu’s Denjin Hadouken!

After a long five years wait, we have finally received news regarding the upcoming installment in the Street Fighter series. During the PlayStation Experience event held in Las Vegas early December, it was declared that Street Fighter 5 will be launched soon, released by its game developer Capcom in a worthy partnership with Sony.

However, the exact date of the release is still unknown. The announcement was made along with a teaser trailer. It shows Chun-Li and Ryu fighting with each other. There are also many new things that were revealed by this trailer. These include many new abilities for the fighters, an EX meter along with a Revenge meter. The particular trailer was also posted on the official PlayStation blog.

The game will be released exclusive for the two platforms: PlayStation 4 and the PC. However, Street Fighter 5 will also include a form of cross-platform play as well. It was confirmed by Sony’s Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations, Adam Boyes. According to him, PlayStation 4 will be the only console where Street Fighter 5 gets released.

They have partnered with Capcom on the complete development and release of Street Fighter 5. Presently, they are working together in order to make sure that Street Fighter 5 turns out to be the ideal game for the next-gen console.

The bigger news is the partnership with Sony will lead to Street Fighter 5 having a complete cross-platform gameplay. According to PlayStation’s official blog post, it will help in uniting the Street Fighter fans into a huge player base. In the meantime, the Xbox Fans are feeling a bit left out. Reports indicate that this is because Microsoft isn’t a big fan of the entire cross-platform gaming scene.

Street Fighter 5 makes use of the latest Unreal Engine 4, presently a powerful game developer tool. Bochan Kim, Producer of Capcom, declared on unrealengine.com that their goal is to bring the next-generation Street Fighter 5 in the best way possible, to world gamers. Due to this, they partnered up with Epic Games to develop Street Fighter 5 on the Unreal Engine 4.

Meanwhile, in the latest gameplay trailer, we can see Ryu performing what appears to be the Denjin Hadouken Super Art from Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. Mike Ross managed to perform the Shinkuu Hadouken in the Capcom Cup 2014 during a live stage demonstration of a demo build. The Famitsu two-page feature on Street Fighter 5 included a brand new screenshot of a huge fireball. Is this Ryu’s Denjin Hadouken? If it is, the size of the massive fireball seems to have completely engulfed Chun-Li.
