While we know for certain that the second season of “Stranger Things” is coming, there are some conflicting reports about the show on the horizon, and some fans have been questioning the story with Millie Brown in particular. Is the character coming back, or is she leaving for good? There doesn’t seem to be a solid answer right now, despite fans’ many attempts to find out more information.
Millie Brown, the actress behind Eleven, has been the subject of much speculation for a while now, and things got particularly strange when Brown herself claimed that she was unsure of whether she was coming back to the show or not.
There are even questions regarding her wellbeing among fans, as many people are apparently wondering if Eleven is even alive or not. The way things worked out in the last season leaves many possible interpretations for the next episodes of the show.
We still don’t know when the second season is arriving either, even though there is no shortage of rumors in this regard. It’s pretty much out of the question that we’re going to see the show by the end of this year, and most fans are just trying to figure out at what point during 2017 it would be most plausible to get the new release.
Of course, the producers themselves have been pretty quiet on the issue, and it’s possible that the release date hasn’t been set in stone yet. If Millie Brown is kept in the dark about the future of her character, this could also imply some uncertainties behind the scenes.
It probably doesn’t make much sense to worry about the show possibly getting cancelled, as that doesn’t seem to be a big likelihood right now. We’ve already seen an official confirmation for the second season, after all – and even if Millie Brown does get taken out of the equation, this doesn’t have to spell disaster for the whole production.
If anything, it could be a good opportunity for the producers to introduce some new characters to the cast, and they can explore some new directions for the overall plot development too. There are many possibilities for this, and the show is still very young and fresh so the producers have a lot of freedom in deciding their next move.
In fact, some of the rumors about season 2 claim that Eleven will not only be removed, but the character will be directly replaced with someone else. Whether or not the new character will fill the same slot in the story or if he/she would have a different purpose is hard to tell from those rumors, but we wouldn’t put it past the producers of the show to do something like that.
The main question which remains in that case is “why?”. Most fans don’t see a good reason for this replacement, especially with the way season 1 proceeded, so it might not reflect too well on the show’s performance and ratings. The producers could have some specific plan in mind though, and we wouldn’t know for sure until the season is out.
All of these rumors seem to paint a rather negative picture about what’s going on behind the scenes, but we trust that “Stranger Things” is going to come out fine from the whole mess. The show had a pretty good first season, after all, and the producers don’t have to do much to maintain those strong impressions right now.
