Another critic John Joseph Adams said that he enjoyed “Star Wars” for the first time in a long time. He thought that he could no longer enjoy the franchise after watching the prequels but the new movie actually retreads a lot of stuff from the original trilogy which were the exciting parts.
Adams added that Director J.J. Abrams ran the story and he, along with the millions of audience worldwide, just went along for the ride. Adams said that the director did well to make viewers enjoy all the characters which was what he did with the “Star Trek” reboot a few years ago.
Meanwhile, another movie critic David Barr Kirtley praised George Lucas more than the latest “Star Wars” film because accordingly “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has made him appreciate George Lucas more.
He said that the prequels made it hard for viewers and critics to imagine how the execution of the next installment could be worse. He said that George Lucas actually showed how a cute little kid turns into a villain as well as how a democracy falls and becomes a dictatorship.
Kirtley lauded the foresight of George Lucas for figuring all those things out long before it happened. It was an ambitious plan and takes plenty of time to make but Lucas did just that before he turned over the reign of the franchise to Disney Pictures.
