Star Wars Episode 7: Three Actors from Raid 2 Roped In, No Official Word Yet!

Star Wars Episode 7 seems to have taken in action stars from Raid 2. There are speculations that Cecep Arif Rahman, Yayan Ruhian, and Iko Uwais have been roped in for J.J Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. These three actors are skilled martial arts practitioners, and there is much curiosity about where they feature in the galaxy far, far away.

There has been very little news coming out of the franchise and except the little that we have seen of the characters in the first look of the film and the names of these three actors, nothing more can be said. There is much debate about which side these three characters feature, do they feature on the Dark Side or are they Jedis?

Ardent Star Wars fans are patiently waiting for more news, but those who know about Raid and Raid 2 and these three actors are pretty sure that they are going to make the action sequence of Star Was Episode 7 memorable. The previous Star Wars films haven’t had many memorable fight scenes since the one between Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace.

J.J Abrams is known for his impeccable casting, such that there are numerous actors who launch their careers with his films, in spite of being a part of the industry for years. If this talent of the director is kept in mind then, it seems like these three actors from Raid 2 will surely have a great future to look up to. Abrams surely seems set to create amazing action sequence in Star Wars Episode 7.

If inside information is to be believed then, this isn’t the first time that the martial art experts from Raid 2 have been involved in the filming of Star Wars Episode 7 for the first time. Abrams’ team had previously consulted with another member of Raid 2’s stunt team. Neither is the identity of the person known nor is it clear what role they play- whether they are part of the real action or supervise the action sequence only.

Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens is one of the most anticipated films of 2015 and Abrams, Disney, and the entire team have been very tight-lipped about the project. There have been leaks and speculation but no official word on any of them. With the wrapping of the film coming closer, it is about time that more information is given out to fans.

Abrams has let out small pieces of the shooting process, but nothing is enough for the fans. Star Wars Episode 7 hits theaters on 18th December.
