‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Was Pieced Together Based on Competence, Passion and Availability, Says Game Developer!

The final beta testing for the first-person shooter video game “Star Wars: Battlefront” is about to go live given that the game is about to hit the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on November 17.

Game developer Digital Illusion CE (DICE) appears contented with the outcome of the hard work it poured into the game but that did not come to them on a silver platter.

More than the elements of the battlefield, which are quite a visual feast, “Star Wars: Battlefront” was driven by competence, passion, and availability, confirms DICE general manager Patrick Bach.

Bach recalled that when the studio was approached to make “Star Wars: Battlefront,” they nearly had to turn the project down because their hands were full at that time, cites the PlayStation Lifestyle.

However, they have decided in the last-minute to accept it because it was very difficult to say no to a big project like “Star Wars: Battlefront” by trying to figure out on how to go about the team’s schedules.

The DICE GM recalled that they worked on getting the right people being in the right place to do the right thing. And the good thing is that those people whom they tapped to work on the project are really passionate about what they were doing. In a nutshell, he described their work on the game as a fairly organic process.

Beta about to go live

The beta of “Star Wars: Battlefront” will go live on October 8, and this was confirmed during the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show 2015 by lead hero designer Jamie Keen.

However, for some reasons, the beta will arrive five days early on the Xbox One. While critics say that “Star Wars: Battlefront” was built on hype, DICE says that it was their heart and the passion that it exudes over a game so special that they simply cannot refuse, details Games Radar.

Bach said that had they turned down Disney’s offer back then to make the game, it could have been their biggest undoing which would have hounded them for the rest of their limited life.

A new gameplay mode

The highly anticipated first-person shooter video game “Star Wars: Battlefront” will come with a new gameplay mode called ‘Fighter Squadron.’

DICE and publisher EA made the formal revelation of ‘Fighter Squadron’ at the Gamescom 2015 held in August at Cologne, Germany.

The new gameplay allows gamers to participate in a wild and hectic 20-player aerial dogfights, piloting various space ships including the X-Wings, TIE fighters, Boba Fett’s iconic Slave I ship, and even the Millenniun Falcon itself.

According to Sigurlina Ingvarsdotti, “Star Wars: Battlefront” senior producer, ‘Fighter Squadron’ will put players inside the cockpits of some of the most memorable space vehicles ever seen in the “Star Wars” galaxy.

The game is actually the third in a series of similarly-titled video games that is why it is being referred to by gamers as “Star Wars: Battlefront 3.” In reality however, the game’s official title is “Star Wars: Battlefront” and it is technically different from the first two video games.

Ingvarsdottir added that they want to give fans the thrill of living out their “Star Wars” battle fantasies in a game that is authentic, visually stunning, and fun.

The premise of the ‘Fighter Squadron’ dwells on the Rebel Alliance as they hunt down an escaping Imperial transport shuttle, which the Empire team must protect.

Each ship will have its own abilities, giving the A-Wing and its homing missiles a different role than the X-Wing.
